S04E14: What's Yours Became Mine

Pairing: Jersey x Kevin from The Despicable Guy by shirlengtearjerky

Prompt: “our baggages look the same and I got yours and you got mine. why are you so stupid for not putting your name on your luggage?!!”

Note: This is one of my entries for Ate Leng's Ficlet Writing Contest last 2015. This is not affiliated with shirlengtearjerky or any of her stories. I wrote this when I was young so please bear with it.

Kevin just came back to Germany from his vacation in the Philippines. Balik trabaho na naman siya after a week niyang magpahinga from traveling.

Jersey, on the other hand, is going to Germany for a vacation to spend the holiday with her best friend, Maxene. Matagal-tagal na rin magmula noong gr-um-aduate sila nung college. Since then, hindi na sila nagkita ulit dahil nag-migrate agad si Maxene sa Germany para magtrabaho.

Kevin and Jersey both arrived in Germany at the same time. Of course, they rode the same airplane. The problem is, their baggages look the same—orange medium-sized trolley. And unfortunately, they interchanged their baggage. Ni hindi nila napansin ang isa’t isa sa baggage area.

And now, Kevin and Jersey both went back to the airport the next day they arrived home. They were both deranged when they knew that it wasn't their respective luggage. Of course, dyahe ito for the both of them pero mas dyahe ito for Jersey (according to her herself, of course) dahil for vacation lang siya dito. Malaman-laman niyang OFW ang nakakuha ng baggage niya.

As for Kevin’s side, mabuti na lang at may one week pa siya para maasikaso ang kanyang bagahe. Of course, he was so pissed when he knew that a tourist got his baggage.

Kung hindi sana siya tatanga-tanga, edi sana wala kaming problema!

Nang makuha nila ang kanilang sari-sariling bagahe, they saw a glimpse of each other.

Mabuti na lang at maganda siya kung hindi, sinumpa ko na ’to.

Mabuti na lang at Pilipino at hot siya kung hindi, sinumpa ko na ’to.

After that incident, they thought they wouldn't see each other again.

Maxene took Jersey around the city for her first day (well, after the day she got her baggage). On her second day, they bought souvenirs for Jersey’s friends in the Philippines. For her last day, she went to Maxene’s workplace. (Gusto kasi ni Jersey na makilala ang ilang co-workers ni Maxene. Para na rin mahusgahan niya ang mga ito when they had a chat with their high school barkada.)

So far, her vacation went really well. And now that she's in Maxene’s workplace, she started mingling with her co-workers.

Mababait naman sa kanya ang lahat ng co-workers ni Maxene but there are two who she really loves to talk with—Jicker and Blanche. They were talking to her all day while they were working. (Sabi ni Maxene, ganyan ang Blicker duo, they are the masters of multitasking.)

The two kept on keeping Jersey entertained while Maxene is running an errand from her supervisor. Everything was going well when Maxene called Jersey to introduce her to her partner.

“Je, come over here! Pakilala kita sa partner-in-crime ko dito sa work ko.” Kung si Blanche ang partner-in-crime ni Jicker, meron din si Maxene.

So Jersey went to where Maxene is. Then she saw Maxene’s partner, busy doing his work. (Yes, he’s a he.) “Hey. Take a break, dude. I have someone to introduce to you.”

“Teka lang talaga. I’ll just save this.”

Nang matapos na niya ang kanyang ginagawa, tumayo na siya and he fixed himself for him to look decent. When they saw each other, they were both shocked and irritated as they remember the baggage incident that happened days ago.

“Ikaw?!”

“Siya ’yung kumuha nung baggage ko!”

They were both disgusted of each other. To the point that they had an argument inside Kevin’s office.

“Bakit ka ba kasi kuha nang kuha nang hindi iyo?!”

“Hah, ako pa ang tatanga-tanga?!”

“Talaga! Is that how you treat a tourist?!”

“Hoy, hindi porket maganda kang turista, wala ka nang kasalanan. Wala namang rule na ‘tourists are always right’ ah!”

So to break the tension, Maxene awkwardly spoke. “So kilala niyo na ang isa’t isa. Kevin, this is Jersey, my high school and college batchmate. And Jersey, this is Kevin, my workmate buddy and partner-in-crime.”

“Kukuha-kuha kasi nang hindi kanya,” Kevin whispered.

Tatlong klase ng soulmates.

Una, sila yung soulmates na unang beses pa lang nagkita, alam na nilang sila na para sa isa't isa, at di na nila papakawalan ang isa't isa forever.

Pangalawa, yung soulmates na never magtatagpo, kasi kahit sila ang para sa isa't isa, may nangangailangan naman sa kanilang iba. Sila yung mga taong kuntento na na malaman na may soulmate sila pero alam nilang mas magiging fulfilled sila kapag sa iba sila sumama.

At yung pangatlo, yung soulmates na kahit anong tanggi o deny mo, alam mo sa sarili mo na kayo talaga para sa isa't isa. Akala niyo may ibang humahadlang pero ang totoo ang sarili niyo lang ang gumagawa ng barriers, kasi may urnesolved issues pa.

Sa tatlong ito, ang pangatlo ang pinakaexciting sa lahat, unpredictable kasi. Pero sila yung madalas na nasasaktan, napaglalaruan kasi sila ng tadhana. Matagal pa bago silang maging masaya.
