Large chunk of AA51 that I have to rewrite is due to references characters having come to Kanto from Johto post-Memory Event, including Saylee casually mentioning Bill going over to visit family there. I think this is an artifact of when Johto was also going to be post-apocalyptic, before the gameplay went as well as it did.

Maybe I'm done with AA52-B? Probably not. I had to cut too many bits that felt like repetitions of the same sentiment, but--no, wait, as I say it, I know what I need. Sam and Blue scene. I keep adding scenes that full on did not exist before in AA52 and going "dammit this is why I have a oneshots collection " but also I've put too much love and time on Kaito the Kabutops in the rewrite NOT to tie up how he's feeling and what he wants to do next

For the ask game, was there a That Scene for Back And Forth?

For SURE seeing the Deoxys for the first time--it was fun to try and convey both how unbelievably huge and weird they were from the protagonists' perspective, so far beyond them as to be almost incomprehensible, and then to have to try and communicate with them anyway. That was fun to go really high sci-fi XD

"That scene" fic ask meme: The Knife Ridge Scrolls and All Our Futures?

As usual tumblr takes ages to let me see my asks. For the answers...

Early on for TKRS it was the image of Ghost and Fang swimming along a river and surfacing inside the noble estate in Kogane, finding themselves in a world so unlike the one on the other side of the estate wall that it's almost impossible to believe it exists, then being spotted by the young lady who screams for her nurse... who of course turns out not to be a human lady, but a Miltank. That scene wound up playing out differently, and later on the scene I was most excited to get to was arriving in pre-Lavender and revealing that the reason Kamon's mother had imparted so many ghost stories was that she was from a culture that was full of them.

For All Our Futures, it was the scene where the narrator realizes how short-sighted her predictions were, choosing for her human a mate who offered her luxury and safety over the one who, long-term, would have made her happier and also taken her far away from the war consuming Kalos. I wanted to impart a sense that the narrator had prided herself on her foresight, so for her hindsight to be so much clearer filled her with overwhelming regret.
