So I picked up a copy of ME3, but not the DLC... is the game even worth playing in that state or are the DLC lore-critical (i.e. Trespasser or Legacy), in which case I should wait for one of the once-in-a-blue-moon-and-don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-it sales on Bioware Points, no?

It looks like the version of the game I bought includes the prothean companion, so I can tick that off the list... and the other DLC all sound like they have merit, so I should probably wait for a chance to pick them up, too... the last time there was an Origin sale was January-ish (and I’m nothing if not patient).
