declan matthews. the man, the myth, the legend. he was born in dublin, ireland in the spring of 1992. his parents weren't ready to care for a child at such a young age, which left him as a ward of the state. he was adopted by a couple from merseyside and for the first few years of his life, they were the picturesque family. however, by the age of five everything started to change. his parents became cold and abusive. they'd leave him locked in the closet for hours on end. if they forgot about him, who cared? he missed school. he went days without food. for years, he struggled to thrive and wore the scars of their abuse. broken bones and belt lashes. black eyes and busted lips. he struggled to make it out alive, but by the age of 15 he was done. he fled home and went straight for london.he lived on the streets for two years with very little of home. all he had brought with him was his guitar, purely because he knew that'd be the only way for him to make any similarity of a living. his saving grace was meeting coby. a complete stranger took pity on him and changed his life forever.𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐗 𝐂𝐎𝐁𝐘 declan owes his life to coby. the boy quite literally rescued him from his life on the streets. he took him under his wing and together they formed the band musn't crumble, which happened to be an overnight success. the lifestyle was the complete opposite of what it had once been and threw declan into a tailspin. he struggled with severe panic attacks and coby was the only one capable of holding him together. though musn't crumble faced an early demise due to the other members of the band, coby and declan remain close to this day. they still frequently work on music together.𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐗 𝐀𝐋𝐅𝐈𝐄 alfie is, to put it simply, the love of declan's life. it goes beyond some stupid crush that has lasted years at this point. he's never been able to stray from her side, regardless of how badly he wants to at times. he knows that she struggles with her own mental health, and he's been sure to hold her up when she's at her weakest. his loyalty to the girl is unfaltering and that, in itself, will be his downfall.
