Though the invitation had said masks were encouraged, it appeared the residents of Kings Head Harbor jumped at any opportunity to follow dress code down to the very last detail. Unfortunately for Marissa she had dressed well enough, but had chosen to keep her identity out in the open rather than covered by an intricate mask. She reveled in the creativity until she found herself feeling out of place without one of her own. Stopping by the open bar, she ordered a cocktail, glancing over at the person beside her. “I’ll make my new years resolution to triple check dress codes on invitations better. Your mask is delightful though.”

“Another plate?” Allison questioned. The wives had just taken a seat at one of the free tables, more as a suggestion on Alli’s part though she was sure Sanem would be willing to power through another half hour in the heels she’d worn for the evening. She couldn’t help but feel a slight fear that the dancer would take one wrong step and topple over but it appeared that the grace and core strength she’d built up over the years she’d immersed herself in the craft was clearly paying off. Still, she just knew by the subtle nuances on her features that taking a seat would be greatly appreciated for the time being. A rush of waiters had come by for them to pick at different foods, trying almost one type of everything, until Allison’s eyes darted over to an unveiling dessert table that she knew they would absolutely need dibs on. But for now, Allison found herself fluffing up the bottom of Sanem’s dress and smiling over at her. Another year in the books and more adventures to fulfill, one of which would be coming for them significantly soon in January. “Remember we can always go back to the room whenever you need to call it quits. I think the bath salts I asked for should be there by then.”

Coming back to town in the midst of the holidays was a mistake on Christian’s part, he felt as if he was putting out fires all over the place. This included coming back to a frantic voicemail from his manager at All In Bloom begging and praying that he was back in town to help out with a rush order for the town’s end of year New Years Eve bash, all curated and run by Lily Whittaker. He couldn’t say he was surprised that the best of the selection they had had to be pulled, and he was sure they could stand to deliver seeing as the business had a long standing relationship with the vineyard and any other events Lily might have curated, but he would have greatly appreciated one less fire. In the end, they pulled it off and he found that while some patrons admired the florals, they were also judging each others masks. He wondered if they were judging his flimsy one that he picked out of a Party City. When he laid his eyes on the host of honor, he found himself stepping towards her with a friendly smile. Things were amicable between them, though he only knew bits of pieces of what had happened between herself and Sebastian, he felt no reason to hold animosity the way some of his siblings did. “Lily,” Christian spoke with an upbeat tone. “Another miracle you’ve pulled here, I’ve got to say, I don’t know how you manage.”
