What is your favourite and least favourite thing about Kev and Khore as characters?

It took me so long to answer this because I DON'T KNOW.

Kev is a collection of my favorite whump things, I love so many things about him! If I have to pick one... maybe his pragmatic but sarcastic internal voice? I have so much fun, especially when he's all flippant and lowkey funny about horrific or tragic stuff.

My least favorite is how difficult it is to bring out what's hurting him, cause his go to is being avoidant and dismiss/minimize and he's so good at it, most people don't even notice.

But I also love that about him, he's so damaged... it can be frustrating to roleplay though, without being the author and planning things so certain characters could notice/intuit at the right moment.

Khore... I love the concept of golden child burnout. So much. I like an underdog story as much as anyone, but there is always something deeply tragic to me in how the titular scrappy nobody comes and beats the established cocky prodigy, whose whole life was built on being the best. Annoying as shows usually make them, I can't help but feel for them. Khore is an exploration of that other side, the prodigy who by all means should not fail, and still did.

I don't love him being a xenophobic brainwashed dummy, but poor kid was raised on that, can't really fault him for it...

Kev is a panther, but what is Khore?

Sooo, Khore has kind of a confused situation on assigned animals.

His name means falcon, and it being a huge part of his identity, for the longest time I've associated him with falcons.

Symbolism-wise, I think the concept of a raptor bird really works for him, he gives me strong bird vibes.

Tell me you can't picture him with dark brown feathered wings... falling... Icarus flew too close to the sun, crashed and burned :3c

Look at this:

I dunno, it feels Khore to me. Specifically, Khore the prodigy, the elite. The single minded focus, sharp instinct. He's on task, and he's gonna kill it.

On the other hand...

Character-wise, Khore is totally a guard dog. I'm thinking Doberman Pinscher.

Fast and powerful + very loyal + very protective and actually super social and loving!

Look at this sleek boy. It looks like he's the best at his job! And he'll play with your kids too!

So, yeah. To sumrise:

He's raptor bird coded, but that's more what he's striving to be, the image he's crafting with all he has + the tragedy of the fall.

His real character is a guard dog: super performing and loyal to a fault, yes, but also so loving and sociable if you just let him do anything else but obsess on his task!

ACTUALLY I was thinking of that the second I got the one for Khore! Same wavelenght ❤️

I think this could actually be a cute AU.

First of all, points of attrition: Khore would be nosey and quickly grow concerned at Kev's weird schedule, vagueness, and... well. Him being barely functional.

What do you mean you only own 3 shirts, 1 pair of jeans, 2 hoodies, 1 set of gym clothes and those sneakers? No, I get you use the coin laundry to wash your stuff and are not affecting our electric bill, that was not the point. Are you eating a shitty store bought sandwich again? No those 3 sad salad leaves in your $5 microwaved butter chicken do NOT count as veggies. Where's your shampoo? WHO RAISED YOU??

Kev finds him overbearing. No one asked for his concern. No he's FINE with money, he doesn't know what to do with half of what he earns in fact. This is just... practical? And he has two pairs of jeans, one just got ripped at the seams last week and he still hasn't replaced it. He also thinks Khore is an annoying rules lawyer in the house, but that doesn't concern him too much, he's barely there and does his part efficiently.

Then, Khore starts making him food. Well, technically sharing his meals. Proper meals! Well balanced and made with fresh ingredients and high calories because honestly, the guy looks like he could use a couple extra pounds.

Kev does certainly not complain about free food that undoubtedly tastes much better than prepackaged shit.

Khore notices Kev doesn't ask for seconds, but never declines if offered. One day he tries making enough rice and curry to last for days, and keeps asking if he wants some more. And Kev, whose usual lunch is some measly half-a-serving plastic sandwich, casually eats for three people.

Khore concludes he is an absolute disaster, unfit to properly care for himself, and officially takes on that duty.

Gradually coercing him into being pampered follows. Kev puts up a lot less resistence than he himself expected.

And this is how their friendship starts!

Kev sizes you up for a moment, the question unexpected. One second passes, before he judges it harmless.

"Yeah," he answers easily, with the nonchalance of spouting obvious facts. "Of Leska. I'm not insane."

4. What's the worst pain you've ever been in?

"NR," his voice tinges with a hint of sarcasm, "Hard to beat a thing that makes all pain receptors overfire."

14. Khore! What's your biggest regret?

Khore stiffens. He looks down, head lowering in shame. "The operation I failed." He answers softly, strained, as if crushed by the weight of the words he's speaking. He closes his eyes. "Everything I worked for, lost in one swift disaster. I let everyone down. My family, my ancestors, my instructors and superiors, everyone who had such high expectations for me..."

He takes a sharp breath, trying to keep some semblance of composure, even as his voice audibly quivers.

"And my men. I, I think they all died. Most of them, surely. I don't even know if my closest friend-... And for nothing. I was supposed to lead us to glory, and I made their deaths meaningless. I made everything meaningless."

He shakes his head, refusing to say any more.

He shoots you an incredulous, scathing look. "Do I-... Do you think-..." He wrestles with outrage to gain back control over himself.

Exhales shakily.

"I need to fix this. I will fix this, I have to. I just, I have to."

Oh why not Khore too, what would he be like as a roommate

Khore? Uh. Kinda like living with your mom lol

He's gonna be INSUFFERABLE about keeping everything tidy and well cleaned. Accusing looks at every snack wrapper left around or shirt thrown on a chair, passive aggressive reminders to do your chores, adamantly peer pressuring you into redoing it properly if you half-assed it

At the same time, he's an absolute sweetheart. Very charming and sociable, always finding time to make conversation.

Asks you if your aunts cat that was sick last week got better. Has a list of possible remedies for feline lack of appetite, he's asked around his workplace. Keeps track of everything you said your mean coworker/schoolmate did and is always open to listen to vents and 100% taking your side. In fact, he's found ridiculous insta posts on them, look at this clown! They think YOU are weird??

Despite being an extremely busy person, cooks for the whole house in the weekend + 1 day a week, always featuring at least one of everyone's favorites, and cleans up afterwards.

When you're sick, or if you go through a breakup, he does everything for you, gets you meds and groceries, makes you soup and tea.

Always comes back from places he's been with some local delicacy for you to try.

He REALLY puts in the work to make your relationship pleasant, and make sure you know you can rely on him.

But would you PLEASE put a coaster under your mug? As he kindly reminded you 46 times, the table is made of wood!

Who'd win in a fight Kev or Khore

Ah, truly a question for the ages!

Khore in his prime (meaning, before The Disaster) would win in a 1v1 match. He is not a prodigy for nothing!

However, I cannot be sure if the fight is to the death.

While exceptionally skilled and driven, Khore is not at his core a killer. He's an overpowering force in battle, but he lacks that vicious ruthlessness or genuine bloodthirst that might give others an edge where skill and training is not everything.

On the contrary, Kev is 100% a killer, and you can never underestimate him when it's life or death.

So, place your bets! :D

3: In your opinion, what is the best way to train a pet?

"A pet?" Khore lightly frowns, "You mean a rakki, I suppose. A companion animal for battle? We do not keep animals in our houses as living toys, like Outsiders do."

He puts on a friendly smile. "I am not familiar with how training works exactly. From what I know, it's usually a combo of stern directions and positive reinforcement when a task is done well."

"Some trainers use harsher methods, mixing in punishments and fear-based responses, but I believe that's... not ideal. It makes the rakki more skittish and harder to develop a reliable bond with..." He lowers his voice, "Between you and me, I feel it's unnecessarily cruel."

Firmly chained to the wall by his neck, Khore snarls at you, clenching fists bound together with rough rope.

"Just you try, water-blooded Outsider! Come closer and I'll break both your noodle arms!"

While his indignation is genuine, it doesn't fully cover up how his breath picks up. He is very aware of the shock collar around his neck, and how you could ask for it to be triggered any second.
