It hit a lot harder this time playing it myself rather than watching. Gonna miss it! Will say the Skuld/Ephemer fight was a lot easier than I thought it was gonna be lol

My thoughts haven’t changed too much since community’s translation were pretty much near close to offical one. I will say the convo with Luxu and Brain had a lot less threatening tone and def seemed he just wanted Brain to live on :,,,)

Observations — KHUX Finale, Pt. 2

So, we're almost at the finish line. KHUX will officially end after the next update and while I am happy about that, I'm also very skeptical about certain things. But nonetheless, this update was okay. There were some surprises such as Strelitzia not being 'dead'...yeah. And then we saw Brain giving the Master Defender to Ephemer which was...a thing. The exchange between Luxu and 'Darkness' was good, and we got to see who boarded The Ark’s pods and who stayed. As I said in a previous post, I didn't have any expectations for this update. It was okay but not as good as the last two. That said, let's begin.

Ventus infused himself with 'Darkness' which threw him into a coma. Concerning whether 'Darkness' is Vanitas or not, my answer is still no. The 'Darkness' that's inside of Ventus is most likely the same one in Re:Mind. I wrote about this last year on my old blog, but revengerevisited's post covers my thoughts on that. I still think the sudden ‘buddy-buddy’ thing between Lauriam and Ventus is weird but at this point it is what it is. Strelitzia speaking to him was pretty nice, but it was kind of ruined (and cheapened) later on. As expected, Elrena showed up though not in the way I anticipated but still. This is where things started to fall off for me, but I'll get to that in another post.

Elrena’s Chirithy appears with some shocking information about Strelitzia which is later relayed to Brain. Brain theorizes that what Chirithy saw was likely the data version of Strelitzia. Since DDBT is a copy of RDBT as a digital program, it'd stand to reason that there are data versions of everyone. So whoever (Luxu) accessed Strelitzia's data must've restored her to her original state within the program. Basically, Strelitzia is still ‘alive’. This conversation leads them to The Ark room. Realizing there aren't enough pods, they're forced to decide who stays and goes.

Sometime prior, Luxu continues his conversation with 'Darkness' after sending off the True Dandelion (implied to be Strelitzia). He elaborates on the Master of Master's remark about The Darkness' true forms and exposes their weakness: in the absence of a tangible vessel they lose their 'will' (a.k.a. their spirit). Their 'will' is heavily tied to them having a physical form, which is why they've been stealing bodies. Basically, they thought abandoning their bodies would give them an advantage but doing so costs them to lose their 'will'. Once that's lost, they devolve into feral and hollow entities like Heartless (I'm assuming). There are five other 'Darkness' entities which isn't surprising. One is inside of Ventus. The other four are somewhere in DDBT. In the midst of their talk, Luxu casually summons No Name and later prepares to fight 'Darkness'.

Back in The Ark room, Ephemer, Skuld and the Player decide to stay. Brain and the others hop in the pods, but one is left unoccupied. Prior to this, Brain gave Ephemer the Master Defender keyblade and the Book of Prophecies (both of which he was supposed to receive) and promised to find a way to save them (wonder how that turned out...). Lauriam games Elrena into coming with them which was mentioned in Larxene's character profile. Ephemer activates The Ark and sends them off to RDBT where they'll meet Luxu — presumably after his fight with 'Darkness'.

And that’s it. Now, I do have some opinions and concerns that I will address later. The scene with Luxu and 'Darkness' was the best part of the update for me. I am curious about The Darkness entities — more so than before. Brain is most definitely getting No Name in the next update. Strelitzia made an appearance but...whatever. I've nearly lost all hope in ever seeing Ava again. It looks like the next update could be the epilogue so there's a chance we’ll see where everyone ends up. I'm more interested in Lauriam and Elrena's whereabouts though. One more update and then it’s over. I'm ready.
