For a Future Story #5: Snippy Attitudes Run in the Family
Arya refused to look away from those cursed, all-too-familiar, blazing golden eyes. His grip on her face slipped away as she flicked her head back, hoping beyond hope that it concealed the pounding of her heart.
“With as little respect as possible, Kialandí,” Arya’s voice was steady, smooth and bored and tinged with annoyance. “I was under the impression that we were going to fight. Yet all you’ve done is attempt to bore me to death with self-important prattle.”
The Wyrdfell tossed back his mane of midnight hair and barked a laugh. “Oh, what a feisty thing! You know, your attitude does remind me so much of dear little Izzie.”
“Funny. I was about to say the same of your arrogance, wyrdfell.” Arya readied her grip on Wyrda. She stayed her hand in raising it, still far too close to her opponent and still well aware of his previous threats. “Now fight me or flee.”
Kialandí shook his head, mirth dancing at his lips as he gave the young elf a final, deceptively forceful chuck under the chin and turned. He stopped at a good twenty paces and drew his own blade, settling into a familiar ready stance as Arya adopted the one Brom had drilled into muscles all those years ago. “Ah, Arya. I cannot wait to tell my sister her only child died screaming.”
what is this even
https://inheritance.fandom.com/wiki/Formora
... Is any of this confirmed canon? I don’t remember reading anything about Formora and Kialandi being twins, or Formora’s dragon being female. In true Inheriwiki fashion, nothing is sourced, so I’m assuming someone wanted to write a Forsworn-centric fanfiction but didn’t?
An right at the end, the article drops the bomb that apparently Galbatorix had siblings???
Speed run of a tarot card I drew for my sister, little Kialandi is a proud inquisitor and such a pretty lady!
3rd cup of coffee. Might drink later. These machines are testing me today. Might make for a good state to write alloromantic people.
Anyway did I ever tell you guys that Islanzadí has an older brother in MIC? And that he’s a rider?
His dragon’s purple.

Aaahhhhhh.

Modern Inheritance: Spit-take (supershort)
Arya felt her eyebrow twitch involuntarily as her mother reached for her mug of tea, for all intents and purposes looking oblivious to the slight she had dealt. They both knew, though, that the comment was the gentlest the queen could have given, out of line though it was, and completely and utterly intentional.
The younger elf suppressed a sigh. Islanzadí was…trying. She’d give her that much.
…That didn’t mean she had to pull her own punches, though.
“Speaking of family….” Arya picked up her own mug as Islanzadí began to drink, a quiet hum of acknowledgement the only sign that the woman was listening. “It’s a bit late, but Uncle Ki-Ki told me to tell you he said hi.”
Arya didn’t even blink as the queen of the elves, monarch to her entire race, promptly spewed tea a good six feet in what was honestly one of the most impressive spit takes the young elf had seen in her century on this earth.
“He also said some other things, but I don’t think I should repeat them in polite company.” Arya muttered into the rim of her mug. Beside her Islanzadí sputtered and coughed, eyes so wide her daughter half wondered if they would fall out of her damn head. “Did you really believe Brom killed him, alone, in single combat? Please.”
