Sans discovers more and more that caring for three tiny flames is a lot more than he thought it could ever be. A friend offers some wise words that won't leave him for sure. Also, what is Fellby doing with the dog?

Ahh, Gaster looks so strange to me as a child! I’m so used to seeing his skull fractures, and I like to think he got them as an adult. I like the thought of Grillby and Gaster playing together as kids.
Inktober Day 7
How many house rules are there?
A lot and the list is always growing. A few selected one are:
No experiments with the void in the living room
The microwave oven in the kitchen is for food, not for experiments
Pick up your darn sock, Sans!
NO SUGAR FOR SUNY
No overthrowing the King just because you want his stuff.
Hands off of Parz’s food
Don’t put Sans and Saz at strange places when you find them asleep. It is hard enough to find them already
No teleporting while half-asleep
No teleporting in general when not in top prime mental state
Either get the enchanted water to clean stuff now or make sure to gate off the rooms you just wiped the floor off
No fights inside the house
No Blaster attacks inside the house
Don’t wake Pyru by startling him
No coffee for Suny
No coffee for Papyrus
Sans’s cut-off for coffee are 5 cups a day (that one will get changed daily)
No experimentation when a) on more than 6 cups of coffee or b) less than three hours of sleep
For every call to Dad you made because of something went wrong be sure to call him at least two times when something is okay
No jump-scaring Dadster
Don’t call our dad Dadster
No puns when Papyrus has something hot and/or with the ability to ruin the carpet in his hands
No puns when Papyrus got one of the flames in his arms
Three layers is the minimum for all flames to leave the house. On top of the regular clothes of course
Fellby got a cutoff-amount of candy. Don’t give him more, even if he makes his big puppy eyes expression on you.
Also keep an eye out for Swabby, Fellby somehow taught him how to pick pockets
Don’t teach the kids to pick pockets
Don’t teach the kids swear words
Don’t teach the kids any dangerous games

When the flames are kids is it more difficult to control their magic or physical form ? Also if shrunken fellby has something like a breakdown what would be the difference between him and his adult self?
Yeah, they have more trouble controlling themselves as children. Toddler!Swabby accidentally set some things at fire even at the skeleton household. (he didn’t meant to, he just got super excited and then was spooked suddenly and it ended in a night-table burning down. Nothing bad)
Usually flame children learn quickly to control their flames and won’t set things on fire none-stop. But well, they get excited or throw tantrums and that can get a bit fired up. Luckily there are fire-resistance enchantments. Usually all flames get them for their stuff and well, the skeletons got them too.
The physical form is usually very easy to control even for little baby flames. They would kinda struggle to keep their form if very emotional but it’s rare. Even Swabby at this point is old enough to keep his form even if he is crying or being surprised.
As for Fellby… well a breakdown as a child would mean more open crying and openly searching for comfort. He probably will cling to Grillby and cry himself out or well, whoever is closest. He will allow others to comfort him and will actively seek out physical affection like hugs. Also he would ask for heat-sharing and will accept it readily from Grillby. All in all, Fellby will be a lot more open and trusting as a child. And well, his breakdowns won’t be NEARLY as serve. He didn’t went through that much trauma at that point AND he won’t try and flee like his adult self, at least not as the first option. He will first and foremost seek out Grillby most likely.
How many different timelines do you guys have with the TBS AU?
Uff, a lot? XD @namekian-maoh and me are talking about all sorts of AUs and alternative timelines all the time.
As of now we got the main-timeline that we will follow in the main-story (there are some attempted genocide timelines but none was ever brought to completion, there were some neutral ones but we will follow mostly the pacifistic one later on)
In the TBS minis we have:
Rescued timeline - where Grillby found and rescued Fellby during the war. my own PTA Sans universe could be seen as one of the Rescued timelines too if you want as both Fellby and Swabby exist in that AU too and are happily living on the surface with Grillby.
Shrunken!timeline - where an accident changes Fellby’s body back to that of his eight-year-old self. He keeps his memories thou.
Reversed!Roles timeline - Where 6 skeleton brothers find and raise 3 little flames. There are lots of changes in this one. The sixth human killed the parents of the flames, Gaster is actually nice in this one and a good dad to the skeletons and Asriel is still alive… we’ll see where this one goes.
Amnesia!timeline - not yet published but coming soon: similar to the shrunken!timeline but this time Fellby’s memories are of his eight-year-old-self too.
Tiny!Blasters - not yet published but coming soon: the three flames find six skeleton blasters… who are tiny! like size of your palm sized.
Body-swap-timeline: still in development: the flames wake up one day with switched bodies. it’s mostly crack right now, we’ll see if it gets to be a serious story.
Other than that we got concepts of a LOT of AUs of the AU. AUs where there never was a war, where Grillby went with Fellby when they moved to the hidden village, when Fellby never found the human in the mountains, where they were never all nine of them in the same universe (like Fellby, Saz and Parz were in Underfell, Swabby, Suny and Pyru in Underswap and Grillby, Sans and Papyrus in Undertale) but meet up due to some sort of event in one of the universes… and some others I can’t talk about because spoilers for later. XD
But yeah we got a ton.
What’s the story of the skeleton brothers,like why they can shape-shift,in the timeline where they find the tiny flames ?
Welp a very different story, that’s for sure. XD @namekian-maoh and me don’t have all the details hammered out yet but the basics are this:The boys did grew up with their Father Gaster. Other than the Gaster in the normal TBS AU timeline, this Gaster wasn’t bend on torturing them for science. He was just a very very lonely and sad skeleton so he made himself some kids. Six seemed to be a good number. He was a good dad all in all. A bit inexperienced but he does care a lot about his kids and loves them very much. He was often busy with work but tried his best. (Sadly even the best father makes mistakes sometimes, especially with him being alone with 6 kids)
The Shape-Shifting powers were a product of how Gaster created the kids. He took parts of his own soul and infused them with his love and magic and did something to it to make it a bit.. unstable. That way he didn’t create clones of himself but well, variations. That’s why the kids are all different. Shape-shifting is an old but almost extinct form of magic that is passed down in families for monster… Gaster had some potential for it thou even if he couldn’t use it. The destabilization-process he used with the kids however made it so that they can use it.
Sans found the flames in an hollowed out tree trunk in the Snowdin forest after Toby (the dog Suny brought home) led Sans to them. Timeline-wise on WHEN hmmm… just after the sixth human was in the Underground. Asriel is also still alive in that timeline at that point. So the timeline is pretty much all over the place. Who knows, maybe we will write some more with it. ;)

We got some requests wishing for more tiny flames... well here we are.
This is set one month after the flames joined the skeleton household... a time where they still discover a lot about each other.
