Started reading this new fanfic and tbh I’m in love with it. So here’s some doodles of it!

Oh and here’s my idea of what ‘She’ looks like (my running theory is that he’s a fae or sm)

Inspired by How To Save A Life (It Just Might Be Yours) by rebelmeg.

Please mind the tags, ducklings. Bruce (as per canon) is from an abusive home. There will be non-graphic descriptions of that, and also the recovery after he is removed from the situation. A few more tags will be added, but nothing big, it's mostly for minor characters coming later.

I hope in future episodes they explore why Bruce didn’t tell Jim that it was him under the mask. These two have a closer relationship on this show than in any Batverse by far, I think, so I kind of want a deeper answer than Bruce’s “I don’t know.”

There is a description of abuse-related injuries (blood in involved), and this is the chapter with the character death, due to those injuries. This is from the Bruce Remix I teased a week or so ago, in which Bucky, who is already raising Tony, also kidnaps Bruce from an abusive home.

It was all James wanted. It was all he ever wanted.  For his boys, both of them, to be happy and safe.

Harvey’s monologue to Jim at the hospital kind of reminded me of Gordon’s monologue at the end of The Dark Knight. How sometimes you have to bear the burden of your mistakes or regrets because it’s what’s best for the city. Ngl, since this show started I’ve loved the idea of Jim as sort of a precursor to Batman, the first true law man in Gotham (even if he doesn’t always play within the confines of the law). I like that the show keeps coming back to this idea, especially considering how much closer Jim and Bruce are in this Batverse than any other, and the fact that Jim is one of Bruce’s main inspirations behind taking up vigilantism to clean up Gotham.

I want to see Selina and Alfred run into each other at some point this season so they can commiserate together about how Bruce did them both so dirty.
