We made a makeshift bonfire out of an old plant pot and broken ceramic pot, the kids enjoyed it. What is it with men and fire? Pyromaniacs, all of them!
She’s still cranking away. I lowered her deadlift work set back to 45lbs (81% of her bodyweight). Her form was a little sloppy (sloppier?) at 55lbs; no need to rush things. She was totally up for a third (and even fourth!) set, but I advised her to stick to three.
I would’ve had them both lifting tonight, but the boy had a therapist in the house for the evening. Maybe he got a little jealous and will be more amenable to hitting the weights tomorrow.
Who else has coached kids? Her form is ... mostly somewhat OKish. I’m wondering if I should aim for instant perfection, or incremental improvement. I’m leaning toward the latter, yet I fear for some poor movement patterns to get too ingrained.

My oldest son is 12 years old today!
I got him a cheesecake (his request). What does my twelve year old son want for his birthday? A spider. Yeah, a spider. A tarantula. He asked for a “sling” which is like a juvenile spider... I was like “what the fuck?” I’m letting Dad handle that. I love Daniel to death but the kid has never had “normal” interests... ever. From the time he was really small he never showed interest in comics or super heroes or anything like that. So, he’s a difficult person to shop for!
“Mom, watch me slide down like a snake!”
My boo and Santa! Other than being disgustingly ill - I got a cold? or something? Full on congestion, sneezing, runny nose, feeling like absolute trash we... we got a bunch of shopping done yesterday at the mall. And we stopped by Santa. Oldest doesn’t believe in Santa anymore so I left him out of the photo. Vincent is so shy around strangers for some reason but he at least agreed to sit on Santa’s lap. I’ve been living on Mucinex and hot tea. I’m hoping and praying this resolves soon because I’ve now been sick almost half of December.
We have a brunch at our friends’ house today and I have so much shit to do. Grocery shopping, getting a gift for the office christmas party, etc.
