Kidō (鬼道) can be translated as Demon/Spirit Way (Viz: "Demon Arts").  鬼 refers to Oni. Perhaps that’s the best explanation for the hair horns?

And the ‘horns’ on the Kidō Corps logo...

I wonder if Kubo’s intent here was to make the Kidō corps a bit more wizardy. Sadly, the few other times we see their members, they’re in a decidedly non-wizardy uniform—which doesn’t even display the same logo. Disappointing...

Considering these guys were introduced first, he may have been using Tessai’s and Hachi’s design in the TBTP arc to retcon this arcane group and lean into that angle.

I have been meaning to do this for sometimes now. And now seems as good as any time.

Some time ago I had mentioned I had recreated an entire new OC cast for the bleach captains and lieutenants of Gotei 13 and that it was something I had been very exited about.

I wanted to post them here with some amount of notes about them, because why not.

I started with one of my favorite OCs 'Yasu Yamase' if you remember her, although she's not a captain or a lieutenant but she was always one of my favorites so she was the first I posted. But then the idea went on the back burner for a bit until now.

I never really went as wild with their character profile as I went with Yasu, but I that's mostly because I was too lazy to actually sit down and write them.

1. Kids corps captain:

Azoma Sagiyama

Nothing is known about the kids corps so I couldn't really come up with much about her and her role as the captain or how she manages her squad. But there are some things I came up with:

Hates authority ( especially the old ones) and that's why she became the authority.

Loves pink and all cute things.

That is in fact just a really big silk sheet she just wraps around herself.

Has some breathing issues due to damages lungs because of a wild fire that occured (this is a very important time stamp in my time line since it changes a lot of captains - it's almost an Izen's betrayal esque event.)

The white mask is to enhance her breathing.

She's arrogant and firm, a bit rude as well. She has a boss bitch attitude and elects to ignore central 46 .

I just decided on a whim that she is Acesexual.

2. Lieutenant of the kido corps:

Sakura Yukiyama

The perfect lieutenant as of the Gotei bulletin.

She likes yellow. ( how hard did I think of that?)

Reserved and soft spoken, perfect personality match for her captain - she is the only person who hasn't ran away screaming from the captain's shenanigans.

The voice of reason

She reminds everyone to eat and sleep. But doesn't baby anyone.

Ever constant presence of peace.

She's there as the manager and works basically as the HR. Senkaimon manager and coordinator.

Flower lesbian icon. And loving wife of an unmentioned noble woman.

The reasonable but uncool mom of 4 adopted kids.

Don't be fooled by the dress, she is a lot faster than you can even think of it.
