Super good mail day!!! Many man many thanks to @dj_will_not for the Kids patch. Everyone knows Kids is my greatest inspiration forever and ever and ever so I charish this patch more than most. Many thanks to @wildinthestreetsgame and @slowxdeath for the Marcher toys, so freaking tight and Im super honored to be a part of your project! And many thanks to Uline (hahaha) for the markals!

I go through the 12oz rip thread for KIDS about twice a year. I was going through it today and realized its been almost 10 years. Here are some of my favorite quotes from that thread:

Tomtom: "Anthony will always be the one RARE person where you can't find one person to say one bad thing about him.Jason,remember how when we'd go out painting with Anthony we'd have 12 to 14 cans each of us and Anthony would come with three,yet he'd smash the whole area with that iconic self portrait and big tags,we'd come back the next day for flicks and Anthony just out-shined everything we did and those same three cans would go for the next night!!!!I've never understood how the paint would last him.

Here's a fun Anthony fact: 10-12 years ago shepard fairy was having an art show in austin Anthony was in attendance pocket full of stickers,and drinking free gallery wine....Anthony being WAY ahead of his time starts to put his stickers in the gallery and on shepards lame prints.Of course in art fag tough nature shepard is screaming "who the fuck is this guy?where is he?" somebody points Anthony out,shepard towering a foot and a half over Anthony,shepard comes from behind and sucker punches him, Anthony, grabs shepard and 1-2-3 he is on the ground with Anthony on top of him.Turns out Anthony's brother taught him all these take down moves for his rail travels.Those rail travel ventures were an epic that if written they would make Hemingway green with envy.

I still always think of that picture of you,three or four years old dressed up as a tecate can with your dad.

Only Anthony could own the pleasure of putting hands on fairy......yet he never bragged about it......he'd actually say that was he was at fault and it shouldn't have happened."

"3 or 4 times in my life i flew across the country to an area where no one i knew had ever been and went to tag in a bathroom i thought no one would ever see... and kids had always been there first. kids was always there first..."

Bigtruckchase:" He did so many characters in Deep Ellum that you can still make many of them out after the buff jobs. If your graff survived in buff crazy Dallas you did something right. His graff was so great even my Republican dad liked him. One of my Dad's colleagues in Dallas used to jog in Deep Ellium and east Dallas and would take pictures of every KIDS he came across. He then made a collage and hung it up in the break room to cheer everyone up. The Kids-Jesse combination is one of the best ever."

Best pack ever. One of my favorite things about graffiti is that certain people and crews become like myths to you, characters that fill your imagination and inspire you and take you out of the mundane world and give you that sense that life can be something epic like we read in old mythologies. KIDS and DAC crew has always been the main people that have done that for me, so recieving this pack is really special. It's so crazy to hold this sticker that Kids did with his own hand. I'm going to put it in some kind of case and take it with me on every adventure. I like to imagine that in that way Kids continues his journeys. Check out the DAC fanpage to see more of their stuff

This is an Incredibly special moment for me. I finially caught my first Kids DAC 4DC peice in person. About 15 years ago I was starting every day with a glass of whiskey. My sister had just died and my mom was strung out on heroin. I was so lost. One day I was looking through a graffiti magazine and found a few pages dedicated to Kids. I only liked traditional graffiti at the time and didn't like characters at all. Seeing his stuff was so different, it almost didnt compute, I didnt know what to think of it. But I found myself coming back to those pages over and over and over again. I ended up ripping the pages out and putting them on my wall. Later i put his characters on my skin. His art became my main comfort and strength through all the hard times i was going through. And an inspiration to live my dreams despite my problems. I resonated so much with the themes in his art: friends, addiction, sadness, problems, and a desire for those special moments as a kid when life is fun, carefree and special. I always imagined him wandering around alone. I imagined him as a sensitive person with a big heart and that it was this sensitivity that was the cause of a lot of his pain. He died in 2010. An amazing RIP page opened up on 12 oz.. I still go there at least once a year and go through the whole thread and read all the stories. Its increadible to hear how much who he was lined up with what you felt about him from his art. This shows how beautifully and truely he expressed himself with his art. He is my number one influence forever. And Jesse too and them as a duo.
