kidsofmisery, thank you so much for tagging me, I hope I did your questions justice, I had a lot of fun answering them. Thank you for following me and considering me a favourite on Tumblr!
1) If you could do anything in your life and you would have the talent for that one thing, what would you do? (REMEMBER: just one thing for the rest of your life).
I would do the one thing I have been doing since I was 13 years old which is playing guitar, but actually getting recognised for being a guitarist. Guitar is my go-to thing when I don’t know what to do, when I feel inspired by the music I’ve been listening to, when I want to forget the world for a little bit. There is always the though in most likely every guitarists head, where they think “Imagine if this was what I got paid to do” which would be awesome, however that’s not why I’m saying I would want to play guitar, there’s a certain amount of pride and feeling of accomplishment when someone says “You’re really good!” or when people clap after you’ve played a song. I get so much satisfaction out of that so if I could play guitar for thousands of people all the time life would be perfect.
2) If you had the chance to chance anything in the current education system, what would it be?
I would change many aspects of the education system, in particular I’d make a class about actually living. We don’t get taught about tax, bills and how to get a job yet they have the nerve to demand that we tell them what we want to do after we have finished school. I still don’t know what I want to do and I’m 23! I know where I’d like to be, however I was never taught how to get that far. I would also make creative classes such as Music, Drama and Art change the way they make us ‘learn’. Art in particular, I LOVE to draw with a variety of different pens, pencils, watercolours etc but my grades in art class weren’t that great because I wasn’t good at writing an essay about famous artists, the way I express myself creatively was halted by the way the school judged how good I was at writing an essay. Essay writing is not art.
3) What kind of music do you listen to and name your 3 favorite artists?
Oh goodness, here we go. I’ll be blunt, I do not like modern music... there is a certain tone to it, the subjects getting spoken about these days disgust me and I wouldn’t class those who are currently in the charts as musicians based on one thing only- THEY DON’T PLAY INSTRUMENTS! Shaking your ass practically naked is not music, instead it’s a distraction to how bad their ‘music’ is. Anyway, I like classic rock, 60′s rock is my favourite so I will start with The Beatles- I don’t think I need to explain why.
Then my next band would be Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers- he is such an honest musician who has always been in it for the music, I have so much respect for this man and the talented band he has supporting him.
Thirdly, Fleetwood Mac. I saw them live a couple of months ago and my god they haven’t changed, that’s why they are in my top three. They sound like they always have done because there’s nothing fake about their music. I also have the biggest crush on Lindsey Buckingham, he is an extremely underrated guitarist, he has a certain style that cannot be replicated- I have tried for a long time and it’s impossible to try and pretend to be him. Take note modern musicians- these bands I have mentioned all wear clothes and have guitars strapped to them!
4) What is the one place where you would travel if you didn’t have to pay for anything?
This is quite a hard one because the world is so big and everywhere seems to have beautiful spots. I have always mentioned driving along Route 66 in a Ford Mustang. How great would that be? Music full blast and the open roads, meeting new people and discovering a whole new world.
5) The place where you would love to live when you settle down?
Honestly, anywhere where my loved ones are. I will most likely still be living in Scotland which is fine, I love my country. I would love a big house though, with my own private garden and recording studio and...yeah, where I live I don’t really mind, but if we’re talking about the kind of house I want to live in then we’ll be here for a while!
6) How many kids do you want?
My boyfriend and I have already decided we’d like to have two. In the perfect world we’d want a boy and a girl but of course, that’s something only nature can determine for us!
7) Are you generally accepting of others? (race, orientation..)
Completely, I found the more I grew up the more I learned about equality and respect for others. In school I probably didn’t really care but that was because I didn’t understand and I didn’t have an opinion but now that I’m grown up I go by the motto ‘treat others like you would expect to be treated’ and so far, it’s working :)
8) Are you happy with your body image?
I’m happy with the mental image I have of myself but actually portraying it in real life is a bit more difficult. Right now though, I feel that I could do with losing a few pounds and I should take better care of myself, maybe drinking more water and eating healthier but overall I’m quite happy with how I look.
I do indeed, I also have friends who are hardcore vegetarians and vegans and I respect their decisions and I hope they can respect my decision. If I want to become a vegetarian one day, I know I can go to those people and they will welcome me with open arms and tell me how it all works but for now, I’m a meat eater and it’s probably because that’s how I’ve been brought up, if I want to break down that barrier I know I can.
10) Opinions on very loud people?
Don’t be loud when I’m hungover or have a headache, it’s horrible! Nah, I don’t know really because I’m quite a quiet person so if everyone in this world was quiet the world wouldn’t be as interesting. Loud people are ok until they start forcing their image onto you and start thriving on the attention they get.
11) First celebrity that comes to mind when you hear the phrase- People eat out of his/her hand?
Ha! Well... Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks actually. ( This might be because I’m currently listening to Fleetwood Mac.) If you don’t know the history of those two, you should research! I think Lindsey eats out of Stevie’s hand and she eats out of his, then they deny it and that’s how they always fall out and argue. They need each other and thrive off each other and that’s why so many great songs have been written about each other but they’ll never admit it :) Man, I’m such a Buckingham & Nicks fan hahaha.
