River (2023)
"I'm exhausted, mentally. Not physically." Mikoto works at a 100 year old Fujiya Inn in Kibune, Kyoto. While she was praying at the river during her break, she discovers that she got stuck in a time loop, along with everyone at the inn which makes for some comedic happenings and shenanigans.
She prayed that she could stop time and her wish was granted but not in a way she expect as she discovers how nightmarish it can be. It's a lighthearted film meant to show you that time is meant to move forward and that only you can to take time for yourself.
Quiet b&w summer kimono outfit, featuring a sasa (bamboo leaves) kimono, paired with kifune (wooden boats) silhouettes obi.
I like how this outfit tells a story and brings to minds cooling feelings (an important concept of summer kimono fashion!). It’s nightime and you’re taking a respite from a smothering summer day. Bamboo leaves rustle in the breeze while moored boats gently float upon glimmering moonlight. Lovely!
