1.3k of Rewind has been written this night.
i know that things are over between us. and that it’s time for me to let go and just trust if it’s supposed to come back, it will. and i won’t need to beg for it and i won’t need to even think about it.
please don’t mistake me setting the pain down for me moving on or forgetting you. i just can’t hold it anymore is all. i’m not throwing us away. i’m just setting us on a shelf. maybe to be revisited later. i hope so. but i can’t keep thinking about that. it hurts. it’s leaving me stranded.
so i’m going to set it down. just for right now and i promise my love for you will persevere quietly on the shelf i set it on. but i can’t keep looking at it, i can’t keep holding it. just for right now.
i love you, z.
i miss you. i saw a silly little reminder of your existence in some video i was watching. and i miss you.
i hope you feel me like a soft spring breeze, the kind that reminds you of home and school ending soon and birthdays.
Like I'm really excited to write Kitty's dialogue because she has my accent and my speech patterns, but I cannot get my Appalachian lit professor's voice out of my head when I do, saying, "literary voyeurism".... Like it's somehow a bad thing to write different speech patterns and accents. Which, I can understand if you're doing it to make a specific group of people seem stupid in comparison to their oppressors (this has been done over and over again to the black community). But like? It's my accent. It's my speech pattern. I can do what I want?
I am so normal about leoki I swear
"Fuck, Kid," Leon murmured against her lips as he kissed her, as his hand ghosted over her breast. "Need you. Need you so bad I could—"
"Could what?" she gasped.
SOmeONE PLEASE TAKE MY BRAIN AWAY FROM ME
