I’d like us to take a moment and consider the possibility (or likelihood) that Soroi is there for Satsuki because Soichiro knew that he’d have to take Ryuko away and leave Satsuki behind, so he asked Soroi to take care of her because he knew he wouldn’t be able to.
Kinue believed that humans and clothing could be friends, her last dying wish for them was to continue the experiments,
my head canon, is that aikuro was in in love with Tsumugu's sister in the past.
cutting to ryuko, Ryuko bares a similer resemblance to Kinue, my guess is thats why Aikuro always made moves on her, watching over matoi during each battle, saving her countless of times duirng her time at. Honnōji.
im guessing that Aikuro saw Kinue in Ryuko.
he cares about her a lot, sure he was the leaader of nudest beach, he could of killed her when Senketsu consumed her in her beserk rage. but he didn't kill her he could have, but Soichiro in trusted aikuro with leading ryuko to senketsu, and lookig out for his daughter once he had passed.
you could call ryuko and Aikuro friends more then a student and teacher relationship.
given a few years after the events of the anime, i could see ryuko growing to admire the former operative, even habouring feelings for him later down the line.
these are just my thoughts on ryuko and aikuros dynamic and how i feel that kinui would remind the man of her through ryuko.
The other day I was watching the Kill La Kill Dub and a thought came to me. What if something had happened to either one of the Elite Four or Shiro Iori that would make them unable to do their duties as a member of the student council? What if they each had a back up to replace them should they fail?
(The rest is under a Read More since it ended up WAY longer than anticipated)
Now I know these five are meant to be presented as an infallible group of individuals, but when you think about it, they’re still only human, and teenagers at that, with the only exception being Gamagori since he’s twenty, and that’s still very young. They’re all likely to make mistakes every once in a while as every human can be expected to do, especially ones of their young age.
Given what we’re shown of Satsuki Kiryuin during the course of the show, she plans far in advance and takes into account nearly every possible oucome and even takes measures in case the outcome is something she wouldn’t be able to anticipate. It makes sense that she would consider the fact that the five people who are essential pillars to aid her in reaching her ambitions are still only human and young ones at that, who may at some point fail and become unable to continue on.
So my idea was, that sometimes after Satsuki set up Honnouji Academy and got things running smoothly and the clubs set up, she would call the Elite Four and Shiro to gather in the Student Council room and task them with finding someone who is under their jurisdiction within the school who is trustworhty and strong enough that they would be able to take their place should they fall and appoint them as their second in command so that should they fall, there will be someone who can take their place.
Now the Elite Four and Shiro would most likely be taken aback and probably even a little insulted at the idea but would come around to it after Satsuki explains that it’s merely meant as a fail safe in case anything they can’t anticipate should happen and leave them unable to continue their duties. Until that time comes they will act as an assistant who can help them with running all the clubs and such under their control and ease the burden of all the work so they don’t become over whelmed with trying to run so many clubs, aid in Lady Satsuki’s master plan, and keeping up with school work all at the same time.
As to weather or not, these “Vice Presidents” would be aware of Lady Satsuki’s main plan, I’m not yet sure. I believe perhaps that they would know that there was something big going on behind the scenes with her and their respective “bosses” but they most likely wouldn’t ask, believing that if they needed to know about it, they would be told and thus trusting their leaders and doing whatever they can to help them to the fullest of their abilities until the day comes when they’re trusted with the knowledge of what it really going on behind the closed doors of the Student Council room.
I’ve decided to explore this idea some more and work out the designs of what I think the characters would be. So far I don’t have much, just the very beginnings of a design for who Shiro’s helper would be. I’m working on designs for them at the moment and so far the only thing set in stone is the design for Shiro’s helpers eyes and they fact that they are going to be female. I am playing around with the idea of one of them being transgender, so far the one I’m liking the most is for Gamagori’s helped to e Male to Female transgender but I’m still not 100% sure about it so it’s possible that it will change as I continue to work on them. I may just stick with the designs but I’m also toying with the idea of either doing a fan fiction or opening up an ask blog for them. I’ll have to see how it goes with making the designs and working on developing them as characters.
If anyone is interested in hearing more about this theory or wants to help at all with creating the characters, please message me. Discussing it with someone else would probably help a lot with coming up with more ideas for the characters.
maybe Isshin implanted his dna into Senketsu. I was always curious as to why through out the series, he was acting like the lovable/ totally laaaame dad character. And I think that’s why Senketsu can talk. I might be wrong cuz ive only watched the series once. But that’d be kind of heart warming to think about
What if they do overthrow the life fibers and anything with life fibers is destroyed or disappears, does that mean Ryuuko will die with the life fibers cause she is sort of made out of them. KIND OF LIKE GURREN LAGGAN WITH NIA
Ragyo Kiruiyn is a villain with an honest motive...she honestly reveres the life fibers as if their effects on evolution made them parent of humanity. And in a way, by cocooning it in a womb in which it can evolve, life fibers turn out to be a mother-esque figure to humanity - even if it's a parasitic and ultimately predatory one. Basically, Ragyo is the proxy for life fibers as a whole.
What the heroes have to do is to take this "motherly" force that empowered them for so long, negate its goals and subjugate it, and rend it into something they can wear and use at their convenience.
It comes off as gynophobic - unless you can demonstrate that Ragyo and Nui - both proxies of the life fibers - aren't representative of all women, but the concept of the traditional wife/mother, whose social role may be, among other things, to prepare their daughters for the same restrictive role of wife/mother.*
The heroes may not look as "womanly" as the villains, but that's the point. Ryuko and Satsuki are their own people, rebelling against a villain that literally tries to force her ideas of femininity on them.
It's female heroes versus female villains. And this time, the female villains seem to be the more controversial. Row row, fight da marriage.
...
* Understand of course, that there's nothing wrong, and it is fact good and not necessarily "restrictive" to be a wife and/or mother. I'm just analyzing Kill la Kill here and not passing any judgment of my own. Something could be said about crafting an entire story around a villainous wife/mother, but there is a good wife and mother in Kill la Kill - Mako's mother.
Recently I saw a post that said that commentary on Kill la Kill episodes hinted that Ryuko being "alone" in the end of the first ending sequence foreshadows what will happen the final episode.
This is the scene in the ending that I think might best correlate to Ryuko being "alone" in the end. With the life fibers defeated, and/or subjugated, Satsuki will likely head REVOCS and rehabilitate the world.
But Ryuko just isn't the kind of person to be interested in that. It's been pointed out that Ryuko and Satsuki's designs are similar to Simon and Rosseiu from Gurren Lagaan. And if you watched Kill la Kill's spiritual predecessor, you'll know that Rosseiu was predisposed to leadership...while Simon was not.
I find it highly likely that Ryuko and Satsuki will part ways in a way that mirrors what happened with Simon and Rosseiu. After finding her father's killer and getting closure, Ryuko will say goodbye to Honnoujji and find another path for herself.
Kill la Kill Theory time: Nui Harime is a Kamui that devoured its human host. It explains her superior strength and speed, and her seemingly-instinctual knowledge of Life Fibers she used to unravel Sangeyama's uniform. Senketsu got a bad feeling around her, similar to when he sensed Junketsu in episode 3. The little red hooks on her nails could be her Life Fibers, and Inamuta's comment there about uniforms having a pinky would be subtle foreshadowing in that case. It's also why he can't dig any info up on her: there would be no record of such a human being. Basically, the same thing happened to her that happened to that guy in the sewing laboratory testing the 5-star uniform - but while 50% life fibers don't have the intelligence for anything but mindless aggression, a kamui is intelligent enough to keep up the facade of humanity. However, it isn't a perfect imitation - thus why she seems so insincere all the time, like she's only pretending at emotion.
