All set up and ready to crack on with tracking. Ali's custom AD Drums kit sounds sweet. Also loving the sound of the U87s on the room with some light compression on the way in.
Positioning an SM7b on a snare is tricky business. Sounds sick though.
A great track that Kill The Weekend came to record with our sound engineer before we had heard of them. I was present at the recording stage, got to know the guys and pretty much signed them off the back of this record. Well worth a listen.
Up and Running
So, where do I begin...
Well firstly I couldn't be happier that after all the hard work by our team and by the support from our parent label MC9, this label has finally materialised. It took 4 hard months of work to ensure that our infrastructure was solid and stable ready to support our new acts.
Secondly and most importantly we have signed 2 incredible UK based rock acts by the name of Kill The Weekend and Roses In Rome. Both bands are a serious ones to watch for 2012/13, so get searching now, you will not be disappointed. Ill whack a couple of links at the bottom of this post for those who wish to go venturing for new music. We will be using Tumblr to let you guys know what our acts are up to whether it be gigging, releasing new merch, releasing new videos, or just to reblog the fun and interesting things the guys have to say, so make sure you follow us or just keep checking back every now and again for something new.
We will also be using this platform as a way of sharing our knowledge of the industry. We will be regularly post breaking industry news, interesting facts and open up our world to you guys in the form of video footage, pictures and more. Coming closer to the release we will also be arranging a number of interactive competitions stretching across all of our platforms so make sure you add them all up if you want to win yourself some great merch or one of our acts new records (Ill post the links below).
And finally if you have any serious industry questions whether your a musician, looking at getting into the business side of the industry, or just plain interested then give us a shout on here and we will try our best to answer.

Kill The Weekend - Return with their Second EP
Kill The Weekend are leading the way in a new breed of UK punk-rock bands. Armed with an abundance of catchy hooks and reassuring melodies, their sound is reminiscent of ‘You Me At Six’, ‘Deaf Havana’ or ‘Young Guns’.
Having completed a busy summer of gigs, including a packed-out set at Guilfest, the band now brings listeners the accomplished Liars and Lovers 5 track E.P
We had an early listen to the EP and this is what we think:
‘Beyond Everything North’ has tumbledown drums and earnest vocals atop a carefully crafted scaffold tower of razor sharp guitars. ‘Three Times Unlucky’ is a melodious and catchy suburban pop song with a bit of grunt and attitude and a slice or two of punky fizz. ‘Strength In Innocence’ has fresh clean lines of shimmering harpsichord sounding guitar and glittering cymbal bursts lining a bed of sounds for a treasured yet lonely voice. A female guest vocal adds a further sumptious luxury layer to this worthy jewel box.
‘So Much To Say’ has engaging tones that set up the tune, and distorted guitars are pushed upon you like a chugger on a mission. Added to this are zealous vocals that punch-along like a factory printer on a big job. ‘This Fire Feels Like Home’ – provides gigantic chords that create a sense of splendour- and the verse fairly flies along like a brace of fowl put up by a gunner. Winsome vocals and chattering yet captivating guitars bring the mixture to a boil in time for a chorus and an ambient visceral distrust that hangs in the air. – Neil Mach (c) 2011
