why do you guys think it’s bad, I liked it. Aside from a slight issue of pacing i didn’t see much wrong with it.
the tone/style of the writing was inappropriate for the mood of the set and was incredibly clunky at times (using 19 individual names in a single sentence, listing 16 of them consecutively).
there were continuity problems. major plot points that were set up in ixalan were dropped (jace returning vraska’s memories, jace planning with niv-mizzet before he died). jace literally shouldnt have had time to go on a weeks-long quest to find nissa because he was supposed to be on ravnca making plans with niv-mizzet.
some of the characters were ridiculously out of character. theres no way in hell gideon jura of all people would ever seriously consider surrender (page 176). and theres no way jace, who has called himself “ravnican to the core” in the past would ever say that ravnica is not his home (page 42). aside from issues that i find to be egregious like this, i find that everyone else fell completely flat.
