-Well… I’m not really into the whole "Sans saga" , but Killer Sans does catch my interest. After all, he basically sided with his enemy and became the very thing he once despised. To me, that’s quite a realistic outcome — just like with Dust Sans — since doing the same thing over and over again is a sign of madness. The Genocide Route in the game is all about exploring something new. The player did it, Flowey did it — both remember their previous “runs” before the reset. Sans remembers too. That’s why I think this kind of outcome actually makes sense.

What really annoys me, though, is how much the fandom has twisted his character. It’s such a shame. Even in the fanon, he doesn’t really clash with the other “Bad Guys,” even though he’s the only one of them who killed others just for fun and feels no guilt whatsoever — unlike Dust. I really miss those sorts of conflicts…

Headcanon: Because of Chara, the Sans are above the others comedian's, and his skull gets creepily distorted — just like Chara’s during the Genocide Route. He creepy guy :((

The Killer species dysphoria is making me think a lot about the "your soul is becoming more like mine" line

Yeah! Gets even more interesting if you go with the idea how some characters in Undertale eventually start not seeing Frisk as human.

Saying things along the lines of, “Hahaha... you're not really human, are you? No... you're empty inside, just like me. In fact, you're Chara, right?”

“My brother would really like to see a human. So it would really help me out... if you kept pretending to be one.”

“The way you shamble about from place to place...”

“Human... no, WHATEVER you are. For the sake of everyone's hopes and dreams... I, UNDYNE, will STRIKE YOU DOWN!”

“What kind of monster are you? Sorry, I cannot tell.”

I’d imagine Killer heard many things similar to these things during his and Chara’s Genocides, although more along the lines of no longer being a monster and not being Sans. And perhaps this is something Chara reinforced.

And considering how Stage 2 was said to exist in the state that it does precisely because Sans is fighting back against Determination, that makes it neither human nor monster. Stage 4 was described as “Chara wins, feels nothing.”

And during the Stage 4 comic, the Chara in Killer’s head commented that Stage 4 was “getting worse.”

Perhaps Stage 4 is exactly what Chara meant when they said Sans’ soul was becoming like theirs—something not monster anymore, not human either, the way they are no longer human.

The way they’re apparently the demon that comes when you call its name. However, Sans’ soul was fighting back—creating Stage 2; who certainly is like Something New Chara in terms of mindset, behavior, and a bit of personality (also said to be similar to Flowey as well.) Rahafwabas did describe Killer’s soul as a war between two souls— a monster soul, and a Determination soul.

I’d imagine this really does fuck with Killer a lot; especially when his body doesn’t match up with his identity, and his self perception. Could very easily lead to a lot of species dysphoria. A lot of, “What am I?”

killer should be given a gun. specifically so he can grab someone by the throat or hair and force the barrel in someone’s mouth and threaten to make a pretty brain splatter on the wall. (bonus points if he does to Chara when they step out of line in timelines where they’re still partners after killer takes the reset)

This drawing by rahafwabas is one instance where we get to see a progression of Killer’s SOUL, although it isn’t described as “Stages.”

This is another, where the explanation and view of Stage 4 is left out.

We learn later in this same comic, from the Chara inside Killer’s head, that maybe the reason Color was not told anything about Stage 4 was because Killer himself is deeply ashamed of it. Possibly struggling to understand Stage 4 himself, and perhaps he is also afraid of himself.

However, soon after this comic, we get the Stage 4 comic. Where we don’t get to see at all what Killer’s SOUL looks like in Stage 4.

There’s also this, where Killer’s SOUL looks a lot more like the way it was shown in the first drawing, but this only happened because someone asked if Rahafwabas/Killer could do a “scary face.” So perhaps this wasn’t meant to be Stage 4.

So Stage 1 is an upside down, red and white, heart. Stage 2 is a red and white target, whereas Stage 3 seems to be something more akin to a spinning, untangling target—perhaps to reflect the state of mind in this Stage. Manic, wild, high energy, perhaps even “feral.”

Stage 4 is a little iffy, but the most we have possibly seen of it in canon seems to be that it’s a completely red, upside down heart—and the “scary face” image seems to suggest that the white lines of Stage 1 are replaced with black lines. Perhaps to represent Determination, which Stage 4 is filled with. And also seemingly supposed to be a mirror of the Player/Chara’s SOUL, perhaps to lean more into the “Chara wins” idea.

That being said, people have mostly taken do coming up with their own interpretations for the shape and state of Killer’s Stages—particularly Stage 4. I’ve seen things suggested like DeltaRune, squares, an eye, a save star, something completely incomprehensible. So feel free to have fun with it!
