Rain was probably the most challenging Ghoul to design... I knew from the start that I wanted something unusual. I wanted him to stand out from the other Water Ghouls, since I didn't want to reuse species I'd already taken inspiration from. A mix of a leopard seal and a narwhal became the main concept, mostly because I wanted him to have a horn...Big horn... It was eventually sawed down after it grew too large and started getting in the way of everyday life.

( Rain absolutely hates being compared to seals.)

A small experiment with the eyes of the water ghouls in their true forms in Hell.

Chain is something akin to a Kraken, Dewdrop is inspired by ancient extinct amphibians, and Delta by mosasaurs. The ghouls who joined the band before and during the beginning of the Meliora era are fairly large and “wild” creatures, with builds resembling extinct animals from our world, while the later ones are smaller and more “obedient.” They’re easier to work with.

Wanted to experiment a bit and make something like a redesign for the Skeletá outfits. I didn’t want to stray too far from the bone-themed vibe, but I wanted to get rid of the "skin-tight suit"
