So I've been looking through gifs because I wanna make some like yours. -because they are amazing- I'm not super artsy though. I was wondering two things, do you have any tips. and if i find a gif that i love and can't make it come out the way i want it to could i send you a link to it and would you think about making one for me? (: (: (:
Hope you don't mind me putting this public, just so if anybody asks again I can just direct them.
You don't really have to be artsy if you're tracing... Maybe if you're tracing the movement and then replacing the person with a dinosaur, then THAT'S artsy. Anyways, I can't animate unless I'm tracing directly because I've never taken an animation class before. ._.
Have 26 frames? Make it 13. Cut the number of frames in half or more by deleting every other frame. You can delete even more, if you don't mind it being less fluid. Or course you'll have to adjust the speed too.
If it's your first time, try starting out with something with a small # of frames so you don't go crazy. Or go B&W. Doing Tim's cape/cowl is easy cuz it's ALL black. Very little tracing. Same with Kon's shirt.
The last gif I made (the grinding), was different from the first four gifs here in that I made a base first, before adding clothes. It's best to add details (clothes, color) later so you can see the movement first.
When drawing the clothes/hair, it's easy to just rotate it and erase/add extra parts, but don't do that for the whole gif (every other maybe? change it significantly for some areas) because then it kind of looks like the piece is floating. Ex: Look @ Tim's cowl, hand. Good example: Belt, boot, chest, hair.
Rotating can make lines blurry. Redraw those lines/erase the edges.
Gifs where the camera is stationary come out better than ones where it's moving. For me at least.
You can send me a gif, I guess. I don't actively go searching for gifs unless I KNOW I'm gonna make one or I'm looking at porn lol. I'll think about it, but I can't promise anything. Also, usually when I make gifs it's because I'm in a drawing drought and haven't submitted anything in a while (like now, I guess). So, you can try? I don't mind.
