General Donald Doyle had been told from the moment he had been given a suit of armor, back when he was nothing but a lowly secretary, to be on guard for anything. Anything was possible, especially when the rebels were involved. He had only learned how true that statement was much later when he had been the only one qualified to lead the army after several leaders before him met their demises.

Heartache and betrayal still gnawed at his chest, the truth behind Locus and Felix's involvement still being a fresh wound. He wasn't the only one to feel the sting, he knows, as his new co-general was also feeling the same turmoil he was.

Perhaps that was how they ended up here, armor discarded in some corner of the room. The clutter makes his skin itch, but he pushes it down in favor of staring down into the most vibrant blue eyes he's ever seen. There's perhaps only a few inches between them, but it's still enough that his head has to tilt down to stare at her.

Her gaze is intense, and a hand comes up to the wall behind her to properly brace himself as his knees nearly give out. He hopes she doesn't get the wrong impression. "Miss Kimball-"

A sharp tug to his dark blond locks gets him to hiss, allowing the hand buried there to jerk him around as she pleased. "Stop talking." She hisses through her teeth before they're biting down, sinking into his collarbone.

He listens and complies.
