New York 2140 - Kim Stanley Robinson Climate change caused ice melt in the Arctica and the sea rose, drowning the coastlines. The novel focuses on New York (in 2140, in case you needed more obvious information), which actually felt strange for me. The universe #kimstanleyrobinson built was very compelling, and I kept wondering what happened to Europe, and especially Paris. It just shows... Except for this little MM curiosity and some longuish history bits (which the omniscient narrator invites us to skip), I really envoyed this.
