what pens did you use in your latest post? (:
I used a regular Pilot V-ball 0.5 (these are surprisingly easy to use and work on all kinds of paper) and a Zebra (chinese) calligraphy pen you can find here :)
question from a smol and weak amateur: how do you get stronger arms for archery? (: also sad to see how exp your dream bow is.... hopefully one day youll find yourself financially capable of purchasing it!!!!!!!
Hi there, thanks for getting in touch! :)
Okay, first of all I have to say, I never did much special exercise for strength myself, because oddly, this has never been an issue for me - even after longer breaks it always only took me a little while to get my stamina back.
However, maybe I can help regardless...
It’s not so much your arms you want to train, but more the muscles in your shoulders and back. Some things I know:
- Archery practice itself helps of course.
- I find a Thera-Band to be a good an inexpensive tool - with it you can do different exercises especially for your arms/shoulders/back, and you can also simulate archery form when you don’t have the chance to practice regularily. I sometimes use it when I am away for a longer period of time, like vacations, because it’s easy to take along with you.
- Push-ups. Sounds old-fashioned, but yeah, it can help. If you are like me and gravity likes to work against you, you don’t have to do it the hard way by pushing yourself off of the floor but instead lean against a wall and push away from that - basically “vertical push-ups”.
- Another one I know is this: Lie down on your tummy on an elevated surface, like a bench, with your arms hanging down on both sides. Hold a little weight in each of your hand - maybe you have some dumb-bells or if not just some water bottles or something. Now, while holding the weight, pinch your shoulder plates together by contracting your rhomboid muscles. Hold a second or two, then relax again. Repeat.
(I did a very quick youtube search and found this video - the first exercise is similar to the one I tried to explain. The second one also seems usefull.)
I hope I could help you a little bit. If anyone wants to add something to this list or wants to tell me that I’m talking BS (which is totally possible), please feel free to do so! :)
gosh good luck!!!! is it an important exam?? do you still have time to cram (if you need to)??
