Question for our kinnie followers

Hey, y’all kin people specifically: 

Long story short, I’m making YouTube videos about kin, MOGAI, and other such “cringy” communities here on Tumblr. 

 The channel, called Mod K, is not a genuinely hateful place. I’m trying to build an audience who likes to laugh at this stuff, but at the end of the day, can remember there’s a person behind each post. 

That being said, I had the idea to interview members of the kin community, whether you fall under fictionkin, otherkin, or therian. 

The interviews would either be recorded Discord calls, once I figure out how to record those and if anybody is comfortable.

Or they’d be text based and I’d read your responses. 

I’d most likely ask your opinions on the community’s flaws, on general kin drama/discourse, and maybe questions specific to your kintype.

I know i’m kin and all but the mods over on @kincringeemporium genuinely don’t seem like bad people. I don’t support cringe culture but most of the stuff on their blog is pretty tame and harmless. (I say most because I haven’t seen all of their posts and interactions).

When people talk about how awful they are, it honestly just seems like some people don’t know how to handle other people disagreeing with them.

Like, some people are going to think it’s weird or stupid to believe you are (or in my case were) a fictional character or whatever. That’s pretty obvious and you really shouldn’t be making posts about it on tumblr of all places if you can’t handle the backlash.

Some people need to be called out anyway. If you:

1) Use kins to excuse your actions

2) Steal other peoples work without permission or credit because “its me!”

3) Openly kin Hitler or something

4) Will attack and derail people for not believing in kin

5) Believe you have more rights to canon then the creator

Or anything similar that includes disrespecting or harrassing people, you sort of deserve the callout anyway.

I mostly support that blog and it’s pretty fun to look through. Keep doing what you’re doing.

The kin cringe blogs who post in the tag #otherkin are obnoxious as hell and honestly need to get a life outside of making fun of people for kinning, an entirely harmless action that in no way is their business
