I know i’m kin and all but the mods over on @kincringeemporium genuinely don’t seem like bad people. I don’t support cringe culture but most of the stuff on their blog is pretty tame and harmless. (I say most because I haven’t seen all of their posts and interactions).

When people talk about how awful they are, it honestly just seems like some people don’t know how to handle other people disagreeing with them.

Like, some people are going to think it’s weird or stupid to believe you are (or in my case were) a fictional character or whatever. That’s pretty obvious and you really shouldn’t be making posts about it on tumblr of all places if you can’t handle the backlash.

Some people need to be called out anyway. If you:

1) Use kins to excuse your actions

2) Steal other peoples work without permission or credit because “its me!”

3) Openly kin Hitler or something

4) Will attack and derail people for not believing in kin

5) Believe you have more rights to canon then the creator

Or anything similar that includes disrespecting or harrassing people, you sort of deserve the callout anyway.

I mostly support that blog and it’s pretty fun to look through. Keep doing what you’re doing.

- staff is gonna make a kin list to try to get kinnies to stay on tumblr. they’re also gonna get into ace discourse over the nsfw ban

- more fucked up bone drama

- tumblr will glitch & expose likes/follows & sideblogs

- new people who join will have to use a credit card to sign up & tumblr is gonna glitch on that too & expose that info

- the tag system will be so fucked up when you search for dogs you get cats

- tumblr is gonna try to ban the use of slurs & half the site will be banned

we can appreciate the bitter exes dynamic catradora has now and not romanticize it. like YES it’s unhealthy YES it’s not actively romantic but ppl find their current relationship interesting and think it works really well as part of a larger story where they eventually DO reach the point where they’re a happily-ever-after endgame. there’s this pattern in fandom, particularly when it comes to wlw ships!! where people dismiss any relationship with conflict as abusive and that’s so… extreme and lacking in any nuance. fandom is fun when people are enjoying it and exercise their critical thinking skills in determining what is and isn’t harmful, not when people jump to the most simplistic, polarizing viewpoints possible.

The different versions of kinning i’m aware of:

1) The literal version, commonly known, refers to family

2) Feeling a strong emotional connection to an animal/character

3) Believing you were (sometimes still are) an animal/character and having memories of that life

I can sort of answer that too, being fictionkin myself. (If you still don't really get it, that's fine, it is strange, I don't take offense to it).

It's sort of like... a multiverse theory in my case. Like the idea that in this universe it's a book/movie/etc but in some other universe it's real.

I always thought that reincarnation could shift between these universes and therefore opens up the ability to have been a fictional character or a mythical creature (like a dragon!).

When writing this up, it seems like an elaborate story plot but that's the basis as to why I think it's a possibility!
