I found out Andrew Hussie finally designed the Beforian ancestors, and as someone who is Beforian Fef kin, I have thoughts.

First, here is the design and description for reference:

Called Shepherd Constern, or just The Constern for short, but is more formally known as Her Imperilous Consternation. Consternation is a title due to the great worry and concern she has for her lessers, which she and all her ruling predecessors must take great responsibility for. Her hair is shaped like Gl’bgolyb and random trolls get stuck in it but she doesn’t notice. Shepherd is her formal title, which is 8 letters per the ancestor convention on both Beforus and Alternia. However the corresponding title for the Condesce was never revealed. It was actually Winnower Condesce, which means someone who thins the herd, as opposed to taking care of it. But the Condesce viewed this title as cringe, and made it illegal to call her that.

I wonder if my timeline diverges a lot or not. I never knew I had any title other than "The Kindness." I also don't know much about myself from that timeline except I believe I enjoyed ballroom galas and felt so much concern and care for those around me. I see that in her, but I also see a stranger.

I never really did remember much from that timeline; just somewhat acknowledged that I have it. I suppose it's possible I have been a noblestuck Feferi this entire time. But it's also interesting to consider the reality of simply having what seems like a very canon divergent Beforian ancestor timeline.

Anyways, to other Beforian ancestor kins: how are we doing?

on being kin: why go that far?

it’s funny to me when people write off the otherkin/therian experience by saying we’re immature or just going through a phase or we just want to feel like we’re beautiful and special and like our existences matter because like

if we just wanted to feel special or cool or scary or whatever, we would all be unicorns and cats and wolves and maybe some vampires and dragons. you’re out there, of course. and your identities are valid. i love you. i see you. you’re not making this up. that’s not the point i’m making.

i’m just posing the question: if that’s all this is, why go that far?

when a human being identifies as an angelic being made of eyes and wheels and fire with a voice that rattles the heavens

or when an individual feels more like a Venus fly trap caught in human flesh than a human being

you really CAN’T just make blanket statements. you don’t need to identify as some kind of eldritch being in order to attain that kind of validation or escape reality or relieve boredom or love yourself or what have you. again: why go that far? some of us have kintypes so far removed from the human experience that even the harshest skeptic couldn’t dismiss as nothing. our loved ones reject us. we put up a wall. we’re all alone until we get on our laptops and log onto Tumblr. this is something.

yeah, maybe we’re wrong and it’s not real or whatever. i disagree, but again. not the point. point is: even if we’re wrong, there is still something going on that you can’t just roll your eyes at. what makes a human being identify as a shapeshifter from the void or a monster with nine heads or a deranged comic book villain or a videogame hero most don’t take seriously? and on and on and so on and so forth.

in conclusion: this is a psychological phenomenon, and if you’re not taking it seriously, you’re not paying attention.

Sorry to break it to you Danganronpa fans, but felling like you have "no talent" doesn't make you a Hajime Hinata Kinnie. To be a Hajime kin, you rather would have to feel like you are "not special" unlike everyone else.

It isn't specifically a talent thing. It's a "I'm not as good as everyone else", "I'm not perfect like everyone thinks I am", "I don't deserve the respect or praise that I recieve" kind of thing.

kinned people are discriminated against

i really think that kinned people are discriminated against. this isnt a ‘troll’ its actually quite sad. people i work with refuse to call me by the name i prefer (john) and i cant change it without paying money. my family thinks im just too obessed and it really seems like we dont get the respect we need. please dont use this post for cringe culture, i just want to hear what other kins think.

I’m about to lose followers for being one of those… I don’t know what the slang for it is. Is it just ‘hippies’, still? I think this fits in with ‘hippies’. Actually, this might go beyond ‘hippies’, but I don’t fucking care. Nonetheless, with my very rare serious hat on… 

There are several quantum physics-related and spirituality-related theories alike stating that – due to the fact that the universe itself is infinite – there are infinite iterations of infinite realities, some of which are fictional in certain planes and real in others. For example, the FBI and CIA are real in my plane of existence, but due to the theory of (for lack of better phrasing) infinite realities, it is theoretically plausible that the SCP Foundation replaces the CIA in someone else’s plane, or exists alongside it, or any other variation. Additionally, the idea of what is or is not logical vs. anomalous is thus skewed in each example in unique ways, because another aspect of the infinity of the universe is that the laws of the universe aren’t going to be the same in different iterations of realities. 

There’s another theory (which my mother supports, funnily enough, and she and I have talked about this a lot) that the mental energy dedicated to creating something fictional is enough general energy to pop it into existence somewhere in the tangled string-ball of universes and realities and existences. Butterfly effect? Not quite that scale of power growth, but same concept. A pebble in the lake here is a ripple over there. 

Both of the above would fully allow for the existence of otherkin, and there’s really no place for me to confirm or deny anything’s validity until my body is dead and my soul sees what the rest of existence looks like. 

The short answer? I’m fine with it. It’s within the (very wide) constraints of my spiritual and pseudoscientific stances, and it’s also within the constraints of people having a right to do whatever the fuck they need or want with their own selves’ identities.
