The Importance of Vitamin C
By Skin Morphine
The body does not store vitamin C so it’s important to eat and use products that contain it.
What it does:
1. Helps increase the production of collagen and some neurotransmitters.
2. Aids the body in metabolizing proteins.
3. It’s a potent antioxidant. Meaning it fights against free radicals that age and damage the skin. Also reducing the risk of some cancers.
4. Increases collagen which is vital in preventing fine lines and wrinkles as well as improving skin, cartilage, bone, tendons, the stomach, corneas, ligaments, and blood vessels.
5. Prevents scurvy . Taking too much vitamin C then stopping out of no where also causes scurvy.
6. Your body heals faster. Can also help prevent certain infections.
7. Kills drug resistant tuberculosis to some extent.
8. Lowers cholesterol levels, risk of cataracts, kidney deterioration, chances of becoming anemic, and lead levels.
9. Reduces inflammation, which helps with under eye puffiness and puffiness all throughout the body in general.
10. Slows the progression of macular degeneration and heart disease .
The average amount of vitamin C one should take is 90 mg in those born male and 75mg in those born female. According to the National Institute of health
