the solution: watertype gym. water/ice types against grass, and water/ground against electric. tahdah

a trainer could wipe out the gym with a breloom with both grass and fighting moves, as long as it had a decent speed stat so it could get the first move in against an ice-type move. a water/ground type like whiscash would have a 4x weakness to grass moves, and a water/ice type would be weak to the fighting type moves. 

you’d still have to worry about the water/ice type getting an ice-type move off and getting a OHKO due to the grass type disadvantage, but it’s still possible to wipe out an entire water-type gym with a breloom depending on the level differences, movesets, stats, and a bit of luck wrt accuracy.

you could also use a water/grass type like ludicolo, which can learn grass- and fighting-type moves. it’s only weak to poison, bug, and flying moves, but it can use supereffective moves against both a water/ground type (grass) and against a water/ice type (fighting). as long as the pokemon you’re going up against don’t know poison, bug, or flying-type moves, you don’t have to worry about type disadvantage (though of course it doesn’t preclude the possibility of the water/ground and water/ice types knowing a poison-, bug-, or flying-type move.) 

but, chances are, a trainer challenging a gym is gonna have a little bit of diversity on their team and isn’t sticking to a single type like the gym is, so as long as you had at least two pokemon on your team who could face up against unusual dual-type pokemon like water/ground, you could tackle a single-type gym pretty easily. 

though i will say, whiscash IS a real pain in the ass since its only real weakness is grass and it’s immune to electric attacks - i always expect water-type focused trainers and gyms from Gen III onward to have a fuckin whiscash in their lineup, bc it’s such a perfect shakeup, lmao. a well-placed earthquake lands a hit and suddenly your star electric type is fainted (unless it’s a electric/flying dual-type, or an electric type with the levitate ability). 

i love unusual dual-types though, and types that can learn moves you wouldn’t expect them to know. it really shakes things up.

that post pisses me off so bad. like. of course you cant compare the discussions, because it's different fucking languages. like, there's no "race" discussion in german bc for obv the german word for race in relation to humans is very taboo by now. we use different terminology that, in the end, means the same."Rasse" =/= "race". they complain ab US centricism in this sort of discussion when they try to apply non-english european shit?? and then daring to be all high and mighty ab it???

actually i looked at the signs and 2′s yield is ONLY if turning and theyre going straight. they would have the right away but i think 3 wouldn’t see the sign and try to turn first so if *I* was 2 i would fucking yield regardless bc drivers here fucking SUCK
