MAY 27TH, 2019 at MASONBORO ISLAND FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND featuring @kindredramsey.
"Kindred!” The brunette shouted out toward her friend in an attempt to get her to slow her pace down. Typically Naomi would have reverted to the old nickname of Kins or even simply K, but to get the light haired musician’s attention, it took the teacher shouting out across the beach. Once she had gotten caught up with the woman she had parted with, Naomi held her lemonade tucked in the crease of her elbow while she handed over Kindred’s drink she offered to fetch, prodding her fingers into her friend’s side. “I swear to God, we need to get you a hearing aid or somethin’. You’re going deaf, or just willingly tuning us all out.” Naomi then moved to loop her arm around the woman’s forearm to balance herself atop of the warm sand that squished between her bare feet, having all but ditched her sandals as soon as she had stepped off that boat. “You get in the water yet? It’s phenomenal.”
saturday, august 10th, 2019. → at the LE CHAT NOIR in NEW YORK CITY. featuring: @dianaadames & @kindredramsey.
The lights, the glitz and the glimmer... it was New York City, after all, and as a little southern brunette roaming the streets, it was quite a lot to take in. Her big pretty eyes were nearly too small to be able to capture the moment in it’s entirely. It certainly was much more fast paced than she was used to, she was certain she would stick out like a sore thumb, but nothing could really take away from the fact that her feet were actually on the ground and the trio had actually made it there. With Diana’s solo gig taking over the weekend, along with a promise of the other two making their way onto the stage with her, the girls made the trek from their ocean side town to the bigger city — luckily enough for her, she had her fiancé in tow to help with the luggage, as the blonde would never let the pregnant one travel alone. The weekend was, more or less, a bit of a teaser run for the two that hadn’t been met with the stage lights like their third had. It was one thing performing for a big crowd in Wilmington, where a good chunk of the audience had been friends and family, but for strangers? Out of their element, in the unknown? It practically was the biggest test of them all. It was nerve-wracking, and while she couldn’t speak for the others, Naomi surely was feeling it.
“— Of course I’m not drinking. I’m pregnant.” The brunette snapped at some bartender that mumbled something to her when she was picking up a water by the time the other two had made their way back toward her, which sure enough would have rolled off her shoulders if this city hadn’t been so high paced. Then again, she was the one pregnant in a club... “Jeeze, is everybody in the city so rude? We certainly ain’t in Carolina anymore.”
MARCH 14TH, 2019 at KYOTO ASIAN GRILLE featuring @kindredramsey.
It was the first time she had been out and about during a weeknight in a long while, due to the fact that her job required her to be an early riser and be around loud screaming children all day. It was either teenage girls arguing about some silly middle school drama that she had to refrain from laughing at, or a boy in the six grade learning how to bang on the drums for the first time. She needed her rest with a full eight hours of sleep, and if she had it her way she was tucked away in bed no later than eleven in the evening. Despite that fact, it was a Thursday and she opted to take up the offer of dinner with her friend and a few drinks afterwards just because she could — or rather, that tall glass of water with her hidden surprise, It had been ages since she had actually seen Kindred in the flesh, ironically even mentioning the fact at her lunch with Diana the other day. There was no doubt that Naomi had missed the third piece that was missing from her college days, which in turn melted into a best friend for life. The opportunity to get together for some good food was actually jumped on. “Wow, you look rough.” Naomi echoed out when she came shoulder to shoulder with a familiar figure; tall, long haired and gorgeous. She hadn’t even looked close to rough, Naomi was just looking for small points to tease her old friend once she waltzed into the shopping center. Once the initial shock of someone being right up beside Kindred, sure enough recognizing Naomi, the teacher grinned. “Baby girl! I missed you.” Naomi laughed and held her arms out, moving to pull Kindred in against her. “I’m so happy you’re here.”

@phantomxmi
blowing strands of blonde out of her face with a small huff, phantom turns to the girl they call medusa — despite the two being under hydrus’ care, they had never been formerly introduced. it seemed they knew of each other well enough, at least. pushing open the door to let herself out of the vehicle, phantom smiles cordially as she straightens up to extend a lazy hand at the other.
“as do you. i half expected you to have snakes coming out of your hair, but i must say that i’m slightly disappointed – just a little, though.” leaning against the hood of her car, phantom uses her ring finger to swirl her keys around it, eyeing the other with a sense of begrudging admiration. they’d both been hand picked by the higher-ups to take care of people in their own respective field, and she wonders if her syndicate is starting to simply pick pretty girls to be the ones to do the murdering in their inner circle; unpredictability in beauty was dangerous in itself, it seemed. “congrats on your recent murder, by the way,” smooth, hyerin. “death by snake venom… that’s pretty poetic, if i do say so myself.” that much was true, at least.
when she hears phantom, she thinks some disenfranchised youth looking to comic books for tips on homicide and poorly-executed murders; but phantom is a woman, and god, is she a stunning one. jinah may be hateful and murderous, but the moment she steps out of the car, it feels like the rest of her brain cells fizzle out by the time this phantom lady leans against the hood of her car. jinah does the same and tries not to be too fazed when she shakes the other woman’s hand.
“gotta keep the myth going. people don’t usually believe in monsters they already see,” she answers with a shrug, and tries not to seem too self-conscious when she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. she mimics what the woman does, leaning against the hood of her own car, as she had been earlier. they’re at a good outlook, and it’s easy to spot things from here. she’d been doing that before phantom came along, and the binoculars she rested on the hood finds itself again in her hands. she fiddles with it a little, though, and doesn’t look out yet. it’s not time. the light hasn’t gone on. “but.. uhm... thanks.” great, now you sound like an idiot. “just doing my job.” even more of an idiot. at least the light in a nearby building distracts her. “look, there’s the target...and his mistress.” she hands the binoculars to the woman, pointing at the building with her free hand. “for now, we observe,” she begins, taking the lead, but looks right at phantom when she says: “but if you’re too impatient, you can always back out. i like to take things a bit slow. see who exactly i’m dealing with, that sort of thing.”
kindred / @mgsooyeon
sooyeon’s name is as familiar to her tongue as air is to her lungs. mona cannot think of a time when she has ever found a person that has just understood her as much as sooyeon understands her. it had been surprising, really; to her, anyway. sooyeon upon first meeting is a girl of warm colors and vivid imagery, whereas mona is all pastel shades and a lingering, thorny sombreness. it had been unexpected that they would even get along -- but they had found themselves fitting together so well that even in their long breaths apart from each other, she still considers sooyeon one of her closest friends.
but between the video chats and the ceaseless texting and being connected to sooyeon all day, mona still cannot hold at bay the nervousness that causes her stomach to quiver and her heart to jump into her throat; because finally, after all these years, they are going to be reunited again. her worries, she knows, are baseless -- they’ve kept in constant contact for years now, sooyeon is very obviously not sick of her yet -- but still, there is always that nagging monster in her mind that screams crippling lies -- that sooyeon hates her, that everyone can’t stand her, that once she sees mona in person she’ll regret everything about this friendship. god, her palms get sweaty just thinking about it.
and then sooyeon walks through the door of the café just as mona’s decided to call it quits and before she even knows what she is doing there is a brilliant grin on her face and arms reaching out towards her best friend. “sooyeon!” she practically screams through a mouthful of her friend’s hair. “oh my god, it’s been so long! how have you been?"
