so psyched to see someone setting up a blog like this; i was just chatting with the kinnies in my life about how nice it'd be to have an adult-oriented space to talk kin shit. it's funny. i think all of us thought that we'd eventually quietly drop "being kin" from our identities and lives. but here we are a decade later. - 🕯️

I feel you. It’s also going on a decade for me! Identities have shifted around a bit, and I certainly don’t still talk to everyone I met in this community, but I have met a lot of good friends who I still talk to to this day, and actually even my partner of 4 years lol. Crazy how life works.

But yeah. Nice to have a place for this stuff! Nice to have people your age who get you!

I’m a pretty lax mod. Most problematic sources and identities are allowed, though bear in mind you may still be clowned on in the court of public opinion. Here are the things I won’t post:

* Prejudiced shit (racism, homophobia, transphobia, TERFs, cultural appropriation). Slurs you reclaim are fine as long as they’re not directed at other people without their consent.

* Non kin/alterhuman related discourse (syscourse, lgbt discourse, real world politics, etc). Mental illness discourse directly related to alterhumanity may be allowed depending on how I’m feeling that day.

* Proshipping, glorification of incest, pedo shit, etc., promotion of/acting upon HARMFUL paraphilias (“MAPS”, zoos.) Discussion of these topics AS THEY RELATE TO THE COMMUNITY are usually okay.

* Confessions that are just anti kin. Why are you here lol

There’s probably stuff I’m forgetting or other stuff that would make me uncomfortable that I won’t realize until the moment so I retain the right to change this as needed or just reject a confession just because. No hard feelings.

These rules are also up to my interpretation so, bear with me. Things might slip by if I think there’s actually a discussion to be had about it.

Other than that, you can be mean, you can be freaky, you can be whatever. Submit a source call or a meme or shitpost. Be free.

I will try to tag things accordingly (NSFW, common triggers, slur usage, invalidation) but I will probably fuck up at some point so read at your own risk.

polling the 18+ kinmunity (v, please feel free to chime in too)-- where do y'all go to talk with other kinfolk these days? i feel like the tumblr scene is quieting down and high-quality kin discord servers are hard to locate, so i was wondering where everyone's ended up. are insta/reddit/vent/twt/bsky still communities worth checking out? fall out boy voice: where did the party go - 🕯️

I’ve been around pretty much every kin community on the internet at this point and I still really don’t know what I’m doing with it lol.

I’m mainly just on tumblr these days, and I’m in quite a few kin discords but I find it hard to talk in there or find ones that fit my needs tbh lol. I used to exclusively use insta but I moved away from my kinsta and just stay in touch with people I met on there through my personal social medias now. Reddit has a few kin and therian subs, I find that a lot of the content seems to be younger folks/their guardians figuring out their identity though. Tiktok is kinda similar to me in that regard, mostly younger folks, also the algorithm and amount of hate makes it intimidating as well lol. Not sure about Twitter and bluesky. I follow people who are ‘kin on those platforms but not really anyone where that’s their entire page’s focus, not sure what kind of communities are on there. Also weirdly enough kin facebook groups were a thing I used to be in as well? Idk if anyone still uses facebook or if those groups are even still running lol.

There used to be kin forum sites I was on as well, I’m not sure how many of those are still running but that could be a resource as well. Idk, other people will probably have more input than me!
