King Grover in my Exileverse MLP AU! As the Deity of Riches, he’s known for his roguish good looks and dazzling golden features, but definitely not his strength of character.
King Grover is relatively young compared to the other deities; the previous God of Riches, Lord Boreas, passed the mantle to him when he became tired of his immortality, believing his son would follow his magnanimous example and spread prosperity to all.
But Grover did not have the strength of character of his father by half. Upon hearing of Starlight Glimmer’s new economic strategy, he eagerly funded her endeavors, and enforces capitalism as the norm in Griffonstone. ‘Trickle-down economics’ is his favourite term, even if he doesn’t completely understand it, himself. But worry not! Poor griffons can now enlist in the Lunar Guard and hunt heretics to pay back their debts!
Beloved by the rich and reviled by the poor, Grover’s rule has deeply divided the griffons. Many of them have fled to Cloudsdale to escape poverty, while others sing his praises as the greatest ruler of the griffons since the Dragon War.
