Queen Aleena and King Lance.
Hello and welcome to my spin on Sonic's parents. Aleena has always been my favorite mom for Sonic so I wanted to bring her over to my AU. Then as for the father, I had considered Jules but after some thought I wanted to just go my own way. So, detail time!
Aleena is the Queen of Mobius. She's a benevolent queen and wants what is best for her kingdom. She is also a skilled cleric and often is seen in various parts of Mobius providing medical care for her subjects. She may be a royal but she prefers to be on equal footing with her subjects.
Lance is the King of Mobius. A brave and valiant warrior who does everything in his power to keep his subjects safe. He never imagined being a king, having come from humble beginnings. Some times he isn't sure how to feel about it but with Aleena by his side, it puts his mind at ease.
The two met when they were young adults. Aleena was still Princess Aleena at the time and Lance was a knight that had been climbing the ranks. He had been sent from the Kingdom of Acorn, along with his brother, to help Mobotropolis with an on coming threat. Lance was smitten with the princess but kept his eyes on his task. When things blew over he eventually learned Aleena herself was smitten with him... and was hoping he could possibly stay if the House of Acorn would allow it. Which thankfully, they did. And the rest is history.
I had a ton of fun playing with their designs. Aleena I wanted to keep close to her original design but def took a lot of liberties with her dress. Lance I actually took inspiration from Excalibur Sonic for his armor design. (And in my AU he actually dons the Excalibur armor. Basically it's his form of going Super Sonic) As for appearance, he does look like his son but I wanted to make some subtle differences so they aren't just clones of each other. Got some extra quills and he's sporting light blue eyes instead of green.
