In a fanfic I’ve been working on for awhile I have Legend, Wild, and Sky highfive for being in the Technically-Royal club

So, I saw the post about Legend taking on a duel for Wars, but I had the thought: what if Sky did it instead. Sky seems like the type that is slow to anger but when he does, it is absolutely terrifying. He is one of those that has what I like to call cold anger, it is quiet but palpable, as compared to someone like Legend who is more likely to express hot anger and lash out loudly and quickly.

Anyways, yes, Sky is more armored than Legend, but his is still pretty light since he has a flying mount. Sky also still has a baby face even into his early 20s. The chain would all watch Legend beat the shit out of the dude, but Sky? They all turn about to their food and drink cause they know that this asshole has unleashed the wrath of their Mother Cucco and they aren’t interested in watching that slaughter.

Honestly, i love this idea almost more than the original one! (Now how do I know which the write?) But there's one major difference in the result that I feel I must point out.

In the original plan, Legend would have decked the curmudgeon flat on his back right then and there. Sky however, Sky who knows what true terror feels like, playing in the tangled web of the gods, Sky who fought Ghirahim and Demise and knows from being on the other side just how to make a victim terrified. Sky is cold in his anger, yes, but while Time is swift, Sky is not.

The poor fool who messes with his brothers won't be facing a quick duel. He'll be facing a proper duel (because mad or not Sky's not going to leave a shitstain at whatever fine establishment they were in before for someone else to clean up) where he spends every second being shamed, wordlessly. Being made to look the fool as he tries to fight this knight who started the kinighthoods of the surface world. Sky would run the man ragged before finishing him, before knocking him over not with his sword (the fool has no right to be touched by Fi in any way and she'd likely burn him anyway in vengeance) but with a simple knock to the shoulder.

Because no one can tell me that if someone messes with his brothers, Sky wouldn't play a bit with his pray before finishing them, driving home every second just how worthless and pitiful they are, not only in their own eyes but those of the people around them. No one can tell me he doesn't employ shame to deal out punishment, because he of all people knows how effective it is.

King Sky (Ekin Chang), the main hero of The Legend of Zu, battling a swarm of demon-controlled skulls with his Crescent Blade.

King Sky also commands the Moon Orb, which he can use for defensive purposes.  He was given the Moon Orb by his clan leader and lover, Dawn, shortly before she was killed by a major demon.

King Sky spent the next two hundred years learning to use the Moon Orb while he waits for Dawn to be incarnated so they can rekindle their love.

Like most of the beings living in the Zu Mountains, King Sky can fly and is virtually immortal.  The inhabitants of the Zu Mountains are organized into various fighting clans, charged with protecting mankind from various supernatural menaces.

Dragon Models Limited, a Hong Kong-based model and toy manufacturer, created a 1/6-scale King Sky figure that came with both the Moon Orb and Crescent Blade.

I would have taken a photo of the one I own, but it’s squirreled away in storage, so you’ll have to be satisfied with this photo from eBay.

Dragon also produced a figure of Dawn (the very lovely Cecilia Chung) after she is reincarnated as the character Enigma.

I have not been lucky enough to get my hands on this figure yet.

Those are, to my knowledge, the only two figures from The Legend of Zu that have been produced.  Dragon Models Limited stopped making action figures in 2012 which is a crying shame.  Their figures may not have been high end-quality like Hot Toys, but they were very well articulated, came with great costumes and accessories, and were very inexpensive (I picked up King Sky, brand new, for $25.00).

do you have any king sky headcannons? (it's an underated trope)

Hmmmm

First of all, Sky is a born leader. Yes, he's usually chill and quiet, but this is because he is TIRED and also usually there is someone else usually leading in things. However, if Time, Warriors or Sun isn't around to lead, he'll step up and give direction where needed. Granted, if he feels someone else has a better handle on the situation, he'll allow them to lead instead unless for whatever reason emotion wins over logic and he NEEDS to be in the thick of it and fixing matters

Sky slips into King Mode whenever he gets mad. Like, he doesn't look it, but Sky has a TEMPER. It's just his temper is zero to a hundred and everyone usually only sees the zero. Once he's triggered though? King Mode activates and he could level even Time with a single look.

What's King Mode? Well, the boys can usually recognize it when Sky will stiffen up, straight backed, shoulder back, head high. His eyes are like, the purest sky blue, but when he's mad they flash silver, very resemblant of lighting. Where Sky's voice is usually very soft, it is also cannon that he has the deepest voice of the chain, and there's no doubt of that when King Mode hits. His voice is terrifying if he's not holding back. i don't care who you are, once Sky mastered his King Voice if Ghirahim had heard him that lil demon would have turned tail and run.

(I mean, there's also the fact that a god-killer with a voice like that is just scary)

In general, Sky is very chill, and King Mode only really happens when he's mad, but I've previously used it in fics, and if you've read those you'll know that it's kinda hard to not just...follow along when he does things. People will 100% jump out of his way, bow heads, anything to show respect and not incur his wrath. He's a sweet guy, really! But the soft ones snap loudest and Sky snapping is a thunderclap!

Anyways, as for when he actually takes on Kingly duties, Sky is a very kind leader. Granted, most of Hyrule is Zelda's rule, she is the queen and it is a matriarchy, but Sky is at her side for all of it and I have no doubts he helped her every step of the way.

When these two started building Hyrule on the surface, they sort of shifted naturally into leadership positions. They are the ones who know the surface, they're the ones who taught the other Skyloftians how to survive on the surface. It went from teaching to leading naturally: Sky and Sun were the ones to plan the village because they were the ones who started the construction so they could convince others to come down and join them, Sky and Sun were the ones who knew what they wanted when they did this planning, so everyone came to them with questions when they wanted to know where such a thing went or what task each person should be doing. it went from everyone helping them with their project to people just accepting that if they needed help, advice or leadership, you went to Sky and Sun.

These two became royals on accident! They became leaders of Hyrule without knowing they were doing it.

Honestly, I think they probably only realized it had happened when they were like, in their forties and overheard someone like the Goron's who visit their village call them the village leaders, and first they laughed, and then a few weeks later, after realizing that they are the ones who get asked about everything, who organize the festivals and literally made all the rules! they just look at each other and go "holy Hylia we're in charge?" it just seems very them to not even know it LOL

They are of course a very caring duo, and Sky is the sort of King who 100% takes time to explain things to kids and teach them things. He's a benevolent ruler and his daughters all try to emulate him, not just Sun, but him as well.

Yes, he is so loved as a king that his legacy and stories are passed down, recorded and translated for generations to where even Flora has read about him and tries to be like him (her father pushed her to be more like Sun, but she always wanted to be more like the First King than his Queen, since he didn't have powers either and was just a smart and skilled person who saved the world regardless)

I hope this satisfies your need for King Sky a little bit? I'm sorry if it's not what you wanted, I wasn't entirely sure what to write T-T

Anyways, yes, I love King Sky and hope to be able to include him far more! (It's just hard to find good reasons to activate his Commanding or Scary King Mode)
