for sure. i only really have the one person tbh and it’s very much tied to a relationship and feelings and weird familial stuff i’m not used to nor can i explain. generally i’m in your boat. demanding- no- *expecting* forgiveness is a huge misuse of not only your emotional energy but everybody’s. fucking infuriating that i acted like that at one point and that people do it now.

Yeah that would certainly make it difficult.

that’s fair. i mean, on my end, i’ve done some dumb, selfish shit and i definitely wish that some of those people would forgive me and be in my life again. not all but some, that being said, i definitely can’t beg them to or act angry that they’re not. i’ll just paint models and try not to think about it? i don’t know. i’ve had a lot of counseling/rehab/self improvement shit going on lately and i’m in a very stoic/introspective place.

I really do think it depends on the people involved. I have a really hard time connecting to others and a really easy time letting people go so it’s not hard for me to just accept when relationships are through or when someone’s opinion of me is irreparably tarnished. The idea of someone holding a grudge for me permanently is a’okay by me, even if I was totally in the wrong.

true, but you also can’t grow for holding shit against yourself, that’s the other side of the coin they teach you. accepting other’s feelings towards you is incredibly important and makes life a lot easier for everyone but putting yourself through a crucible forever isn’t really going to take you anywhere. granted, this is dependent on the crime i guess. there’s a scale for awful actions.

Oh yeah. I know. That’s why I don’t hold most of my past transgressions against myself. They’re all on the person I used to be. ;P

Other folks, though? Can’t control how they feel. They can feel whatever they want towards me and there’s nothing I can say or do about it. It doesn’t really affect my life either way.

funfact, they teach you in rehab that doing this is literally nonsensical. you are owed nothing for wrongdoings aside from introspection and the opportunity to learn from them yourself. other people have a right to feel however the fuck they want for as long as they want.

I got a handful of people who need to hear that.
