    Trusting the chancellor of Niflheim was not something Regis particularly wished to do—like a viper that lay in wait to sink ones fangs in Regis only needed to show his vulnerability once for it to be exploited but in this moment with assassins flanking at both sides and Clarus losing ground there was only so much one could do.

“Clarus.” Regis barked, and the Shield responded instantly, moving to Regis’ side as Regis reached for Ardyn.

When the Shield stepped in, the Chancellor lightly withdrew his hands. Fingers folded into themselves like a fan, lightly lifting to remain near Ardyn’s feature. There was an odd spark in his gold eyes. One that glinted with an almost disappointment that Regis had snapped away from his offer. However, as quickly as it came, the look disappeared and Ardyn but lightly remained that smile on his face. 

       “Why, so quick to retaliate.              I assure you, your majesty, there is no ill will from me.”

Talk to me about Cloud's training routine: does he spend a lot of time warming up? Is he the type to skip it? How does he divide up his time when training? Does he like to switch it up and practice with different weapons or without? Does he dedicate a lot of time to weapon upkeep? Does he like training or does he think it a chore?

CLOUD & TRAINING HC.

unbefitting for a hero, cloud doesn’t typically train that much. he does fight, of course ; he can’t really afford not to. whilst out on deliveries, he’s ( often ) confronted by random encounters – but asides from that, he has no particularly consistent regime. for the most part, cloud only uses first tsurugi anymore – but he’ll switch it up in the sense that he uses different blades for different purposes, and sometimes only uses one at any given time – ; separate from all the others. he’s far more vigilant about overuse.

on occasion, he does train with his friends // ex-comrades. only, it’s more of a measured test of strength & endurance than anything else. most everyone he knows uses any weapon other than a sword, after all. it’s far easier to train ( efficiently ) when battling somebody else who wields a sword – & particularly training alongside somebody who knows what they’re doing with said sword. that’s not to say he can’t learn anything from fighting friends that use spears & guns, etc. just, it’s not as helpful in the long-run.
