You couldn’t help but laugh as you stood next to Whiskey, watching the comedy of errors going on in front of you. What little remained of Kingsman - you, Eggsy, Harry and Merlin - had once again teamed up with Statesman, this time to take down an international smuggling ring who just happened to be in the horse racing business. Apparently, there was a show taking place in a week or so not two hours down the road from the Statesman HQ, so working together really just made all of your lives easier. What hadn’t been taken into consideration, however, was exactly what would need to go into playing the part; horse riding.
Merlin, much to his relief and Eggsy and Harry’s chagrin, was exempt from the fitting in bit; he was staying with Ginger to handle the tech side of the operation. You had no doubt that if he was watching events unfold, he was laughing just as much as you. After a meeting with Champ to discuss exactly what needed to be done, Tequila had rushed off with Eggsy and Harry, claiming they needed to practice riding a lot in order to be ready in a week. That left you and Whiskey to follow slowly after them, discussing what the other agent might have in mind.
“Oh my god,” you grinned, barely containing the laughter threatening to bubble up once again. Horse riding. Eggsy had never done it before you were certain, and Harry might have sat on a horse for a few moments in a ceremonial capacity, but neither one of them had a clue what they were doing. Tequila had gotten two sets of tack onto the fence surrounding the field were some of Statesman’s horses were kept in the time it had taken the two Galahads to just approach a gorgeous appaloosa. They were meant to be getting a headcollar on her, but so far had managed only to loop a lead rein around her neck. The horse even looked like she found it funny, refusing to stand still and stamping her feet when either agent tried to approach her head. Tequila himself started leaning against the fence in exasperation, Whiskey smirking as he alternated between watching the chaos and watching you laugh.
“Take it you can ride, then,” Whiskey commented after a while, glancing over at you. You nodded in return, telling him you’d done it all your life and smiling when he said the same. “Well then, sweetheart, either we can stand here an’ watch the show, or you and me can go for a ride ourselves. What d’you think?”
“I’d love to!” You exclaimed immediately, thinking you had never smiled so widely in your life. You had long since stopped paying attention to Whiskey’s unending selection of nicknames, jokingly telling yourself he had forgotten your name and didn’t want to ask again. The Statesman agent started walking in the direction of the tack room and you matched his pace, delighted at the thought of going for a ride. Your smile dropped a little however when you looked round and realised there was one thing you hadn’t taken into account; everyone here rode Western. Of course they did, you reasoned, but being from the UK it was never something you had done. Whiskey caught the change in your expression, having already hauled a saddle off of the rack in front of him and then pausing before giving it to you.
“Never ridden Western, sugar?” You huffed out a chuckle and shook your head, an idea forming in your head. “Well that doesn’t matter, I’ll teach ya how.” He tried to hand the saddle over, but put a light hand on his arm to get his attention.
“Can I just go without?” You asked, gesturing to the saddle then hastily adding, “If you don’t want me to, that’s fine of course.” You could fully understand why someone who had no idea of your riding ability wouldn’t want you to go bareback on their organisation’s horse. As it was, Jack simply raised his eyebrows in a surprised smirk.
“Reckon you can manage?” You were grinning again as you assured him you could. He waved a hand towards the row of bridles and directed you to one for a horse called Brandy - you simply had to comment on the theme of code names extending to horses - and took the saddle himself, grabbing a second bridle on his way past as he led the way to a different field. You watched as he called out to a pair of quarter horses standing on the other side of the field, who came trotting over immediately. Whiskey set his saddle down on the fence then vaulted over it, you following suit. You tacked the horses up in a comfortable silence, Whiskey giving you a saddle cloth to make up for your lack of saddle, then mounting his horse. He raised an impressed eyebrow when you just leapt up from the ground before unlatching the gate with his boot and setting off at a brisk walk, your horse keeping pace with his without needing direction.
Jack led you all through the tracks and fields surrounding the Statesman HQ, eventually arriving at a long dusty stretch that had your back straightening at just the thought of galloping along there at top speed. Naturally, your companion knew exactly what you were thinking. The tension between you went up tenfold when he asked if you wanted to race. Your horses picked up on the excitement as well, starting to become restless and dancing about a bit in anticipation. You chuckled as Brandy skipped backwards a few steps and tugged at the reins, desperate to run. You lined him up next to Jack and nodded you were ready, leaning forward as he produced a handgun. You were gone as soon as he fired the shot up into the air, heart pounding as you urged your horse to go faster and faster. Jack kept pace with you, looking relaxed as anything with both reins in one hand and the other keeping his Stetson on his head at a jaunty angle. Turning forwards once again, you blinked moisture from your eyes from the speed you were travelling at and yelled at Jack to find out where the finish line was. When you looked back over at him, a cheeky grin was plastered on his face.
“Statesman!” He shouted back, then turned his horse at a sharp angle to loop behind you and take a trail which you didn’t know about, giving a wink and a mock salute as he went. It was a shortcut, you had no doubt, and a totally unfair one given that he had only stuck to the main routes with you.
“Oh, it’s on,” you muttered, eyes flashing with the thought of competition and urging Brandy on once again. Jack’s route was no doubt going to take him back alongside the paddocks you saw on your way out, which he would then follow round until he got back to the main road, at which point he would go back through the official entrance. He was probably expecting you to turn around and go back the way you came, arriving at the main entrance a few minutes after him. And he had definitely underestimated your level of competitiveness. That in mind, you directed your horse through a small gap in the hedge you were following, holding on as he stumbled through a ditch then took off once more, the distinctive outline of the Statesman HQ now in sight.
Whiskey was laughing to himself as he galloped along a trail he knew very well, utterly confident in what he thought was a sure win. What he didn’t know was that you weren’t going to give up without a fight.
Brandy’s hooves were leaving a trail of dust behind you as you approached the fields belonging to Statesman, a plan in mind for how you were going to get to the finish and beat Jack. Your fingers were crossed your fingers in the hopes that both you and Brandy would be able to manage it. The fence surrounding the outermost field that you would need to cross was rapidly coming into view, your breathing was as loud as your horse’s and your heart pounding. You had no idea how good he was at jumping so you could only hope that this was going to be worth it. You were more than willing to take risks if it meant winning this competition, especially given the trick Jack played on you. The fence was coming up and you were whispering encouragement to your horse, making sure he knew you believed in him in the hopes you would make the jump. There were a few horses in the far corner of this field, you noticed, but that was nothing to worry about.
“Go on, go on-!” You shouted as you came up to the fence, whooping in joy as Brandy cleared it. “You good boy!” You told him through your grin, clicking at him to keep his speed as you came up to the second field, the only one left between you and victory. It also just so happened to be the one in which Tequila was still trying to get Eggsy and Harry onto their own horses. That didn’t matter though, because you could see the yard in which you were supposed to finish and Whiskey still wasn’t there. You repeatedly told Brandy how well he was doing as he cleared the second fence, still galloping even after all this time.
Your attention was drawn to Eggsy and Harry as the former yelled expletives after seeing your display, clearly convinced you were going to fall off. Even Harry looked surprised, though he didn’t actually say anything. You grinned at them and waved as you sped past, the home run now in sight. Then, disaster struck. Tequila leapt up as he watched you soar over the fence, spinning around and looking at the entrance to the Statesman HQ at the exact same time as you and Whiskey saw each other. Even at that distance, you could see the shock that overcame his features and knew that he could probably see yours, but you recovered quickly.
“Oh no you don’t!” You yelled as both of you spurred your horses on at the same time. The last barrier between you and victory - a five bar gate - was coming up. You could feel the gazes of Tequila, Harry and Eggsy as you encouraged Brandy to jump the last fence, adrenalin pumping through your veins. Brandy landed hard on the other side of the gate, speeding towards Jack. You got level with the front door of HQ seconds before he did, whooping in joy as his horse bolted past yours, cries of “No, nono!” hanging in the air behind him. You turned around just in time to see Whiskey slide his horse to a halt a moment before they reached the fence like he was barrel racing, whistling appreciatively as you trotted over to him.
“Neat stop, Whiskey,” you called over, “nice trick you played on me too, shame it didn’t work out!” The grin he’d been wearing was more than wiped off of his face and replaced completely on yours, and you returned the wink he’d given you as well. Tequila leapt over the fence and rushed over to the both of you, followed closely by Eggsy and Harry.
“Y/N, what the hell was that?” Harry asked you disbelievingly, while Eggsy proclaimed the brilliance of what you had done. Tequila on the other hand, was staring open mouthed at Whiskey, arms held wide open in a universal ‘what was that?!’ gesture. The other agent just shrugged helplessly.
“I know, I know-”
“How did you lose?!” He exclaimed in the end, “They didn’t even have a saddle!” Jack’s gaze flicked between Tequila and you, still wearing that brilliant smirk.
“Well darlin’, colour me impressed,” he told you in the end, though the truth was he far more than impressed. He’d taken you down absolutely no shortcuts whatsoever and you didn’t know the first thing about the trails around the brewery. And Tequila was right; you’d done all of that without a saddle. If Jack thought you were intriguing before, now you were positively enthralling.

This fic is loosely based on Dua Lipa & Martin Garrix’s “Scared to Be Lonely” - I’ve used some lyrics as quotes, and they’ve been italicized. [There may or may not be a part two for this - we shall see.] Hope you enjoy! | masterlist
In the realm of lovers, loneliness has always been the enemy.
When you first fall in love, it scares you. It strikes deep within your soul, pulling your strongest emotions to the forefront of your heart and mind.
Love shouldn’t be scary. Yet, it is the single most terrifying thing to exist.
Love is a war general; one who knows how to make its way past your strongest defenses, striking you in the most vulnerable of places. Your heart. Your mind. Your soul.
Love finds your darkest fears, and lightens them.
You’ve found the one.
You’ll never be alone.
Or will you?
Once you’ve become an ally of love, loneliness becomes the enemy of the state.
Loneliness infiltrates your weakest areas, striking unparalleled fear and doubt where it will hurt the most. Your love.
Eggsy was never one for love. Not because he found it to be useless or repugnant. He feared it would become his biggest weakness. A colossal regret.
He would never let himself live in peace if something were to happen to someone he loved.
Yet, he met you. Well, more like he found you.
Galahad and Merlin had set out to recruit new agents after the devastation of the Kingsmen, and you were a highly recommended asset.
“They speak of her like she’s a robot or something, Merlin.” Eggsy whispers, his eyes trained on the elevator numbers as they head down the building.
“Well, that’s because she seems to behave like one, Galahad. She’s a remote player. No outside associations or attachments. It’s said she’s been alone since the start. That’s what makes her so good.”
Your first encounter with Galahad was everything he had hoped it wouldn’t be.
The moment you walked through the doors, he knew he would be compromised.
You were everything he had hoped you wouldn't be. Beautiful. Cold. Distant.
You were in and out of the first meeting within a matter of minutes; all you needed was the intel Merlin and Lancelot had gathered over the past two weeks.
You had managed to take his breath away with a single glance. Not a word was spoken, but Galahad knew. There was something, and he was determined to find out just what it was.
Love.
You never thought much of it. At most, it was a hazy dream, something that always seemed so...out of reach.
You didn’t care much about being alone; the lack of attachment allowed you to work with ease. No preoccupations, no fears, no possible pain.
Until now.
The moment you locked eyes with him, there was something that sparked deep within your heart. Rooted in the deepest parts of your soul.
Right then, you couldn’t tell if you wanted to run away or dive in.
“Got any plans tonight, Lamia?” Galahad glanced over at you, a small smile pulling at the corner of his mouth. You slipped your coat on, swinging your bag over your shoulder.
“None. You?” You didn’t even bother looking in his direction; it was best not to distract yourself, or worse. Let yourself fall. Even if you were dying to let go.
“Come out with me. Dinner. Hm?” He had made his way over to you, his suit jacket draped over his shoulder. He was right behind you, and a nervous warmth crept over you. Do you say yes and live to regret it? Or say no, and hate yourself forever?
“I might as well.”
Obsession. The best way to describe your relationship with Eggsy was just that. You couldn’t stand to be apart from one another. The infatuation for each other was intense, in the best sense of the word.
There was nothing you didn’t admire about him, and he you. It was like you were made for another.
Meant to be. At best.
Your yearning began to dissipate as time passed with every mission. Fights every other day, screams and shouts exchanged between you both when you couldn’t find the heart to say what you really wanted.
You were scared beyond belief.
Terrified of losing who could possibly be the love of your life. Terrified of ending up alone. Forever.
You were in your bedroom when you heard the front door of the apartment open. You carried on with packing, ignoring the slamming of the door as you heard heavy footsteps make their way towards the room.
Eggsy pushed the bedroom door aside, throwing his take-away bag and shoes onto the ground. He cursed under his breath as he fumbled with the knot of his tie, slamming his fist against the dresser when he couldn’t get it undone.
“Is that really necessary?” You whisper, rolling your eyes as you walk to the bathroom.
“What did you say?”
You pause, your jaw tensing as you stay frozen. Eggsy’s eyes were trained on you, his stare never once faltering as he stepped forward.
“Why does it matter?” You manage to get out, even when your chest is tight, barely letting you breathe.
“Don’t start, love. I don’t want to fight; not again.”
You sigh, turning to meet his fiery gaze; your own eyes matching.
“Why do we keep doing this, Eggsy?” You couldn’t help yourself. Your fears had been eating at you for the past few days, and it was now or never.
“Doing what?” He sat down on the edge of the bed, his hands clasped together on his lap as he looked at you.
You shrugged, waving your hands around, well, nothing. “This...the fighting, the screaming...why do we keep coming back for more?”
“Are we both losing our minds?” Eggsy mumbled, his eyes darting away from yours. His heart was hurting with every word you spoke. He couldn’t deny that they were true. But still - the truth hurts.
“Are you happy?” Your mouth drops as soon as Eggsy speaks, his watery eyes meeting your own as he bites down on his tongue.
“I’ve forgotten how it feels. Even when we know it's wrong, how can we keep holding on?” You choke on your own words, a silent sob threatening to escape if you don’t stop. Eggsy rushes towards you, pulling you into his arms as you both fall to the ground.
You sit like that, huddled together, for what seems like hours. Not a single word passes between you; a heavy silence rests as Eggsy runs his fingers through your hair, attempting to calm you down as you silently cry.
Once your breathing has slowed, and your tears have ceased, you manage to spit out the one question that’s been haunting you for far too long.
“Is the only reason you’re holding me tonight because we’re scared to be lonely?” It takes a few moments for him to process your words; process his own feelings and thoughts. You don’t press him for an answer. You let your words drift away into the night as you sit in his arms, your head resting against his chest. His heartbeat is slow, and his breathing somehow puts you at ease, even when you’re drowning in your fear.
“Why do you think we’re scared to be lonely, love?”
You drink in his voice, let his words sink into your mind as you try to think.
“Did...did we jump into all this too soon, Eggsy? Is this what we wanted? Was it real?” You didn’t dare hold back. You had to know. Eggsy had to know.
The silence once again consumes your words, settling like dust as you listen to his breathing once again.
Was he wrong to think you wanted this? Him?
Were you wrong to think you deserved his love?
“No.” His voice cuts through your thoughts, drawing your attention to him. His eyes are red, tears slowly slipping away.
“No?”
“I’m holding you because I love you, darling. Tonight and always. You’re mine, and I am yours. Clearly, we’ve let fear and doubt come between us and our love. Were we ever going to be ready for love? Probably not. Baby, it’s scary. It hurts. But when have we ever let that stop us?”
You smile at his words, shaking your head. “Never.” Eggsy cups your face, leaning in as close as he could.
“Exactly. If it doesn’t stop us when we meet head on in person, why should we let fear and pain stop us from being happy?”
“I love you, and I will never stop, Y/N. Never. You hear me?” Eggsy asks, his lips barely touching yours as he speaks. His emerald eyes sparkle with the love he holds for you, and you can’t help but smile.
“I love you. Always.”
He grins, closing the short distance between you as soon as the words roll off your tongue. You wrap your hands in his hair while his arms pull you in, his grasp tightening, as if he’s afraid to let you go.
Though, he wasn’t. He simply didn’t want to. You were his forever, and he was glad he had finally found you.
Your forever was by his side, and you couldn’t be happier that you had let yourself fall. Sometimes, love makes you a believer. You just have to dive deep.

“Excuse me, sir?”
“You heard me, Morgana” Merlin replied without taking his eyes off the screen of his tablet. His long fingers moved quickly as he tapped. You raised your eyebrow and tried to ignore Eggsy’s smug grin. “You and Eggsy will go undercover as Lord Blackwood and his fiancée, Mademoiselle Garnier. We decided it was safer for you two if Eggsy kept his British nationality”
You huffed, biting your bottom lip while the man kept displaying the main points of the mission to you two. According to the dossier, a member of the French aristocracy called François Dupont was the target of a known assassin and Kingsman would be there in order to protect him and discover who hired her. Dupont would be throwing a party in Florence in his mansion, surrounded by masterpieces.
“The plane will take off in two hours. You will have the dossiers with the information inside and three days to create a credible story. I will contact you tomorrow”
You stood up and ran towards the exit, hearing Eggsy’s voice saying goodbye to Merlin before chasing you. You decided to ignore him, keeping your eyes in front of you. Eggsy was still smiling, his hands on his pockets as he strutted by your side. He cleared his throat as you grabbed the knob of the room’s door.
“So, are you excited? We’re on a mission together, love” You repressed the urge of rolling your eyes and snorted, looking at him briefly before entering the room, where Roxy was laying on her bed, resting after a quite rough mission. “Hey, Rox. I’m a count now!”
“Congratulations” she said smiling and shrugging, looking at you. You smiled and took your bag to prepare your belongings.
“And Y/N’s my fiancée!” Eggsy added with a proud voice, grinning. You turned to peek his features before taking your clothes and packing them.
“That’s interesting, too” Roxy replied with a teasing tone in your voice and you huffed, hearing as Eggsy started to rummage between his stuff as you sat down on the bed, reading your messages.
“Eggsy, come here, please” Merlin’s voice was heard on the speakers and the young man left the room. You looked out the corner of your eye, noticing Roxy shifting on her seat before she roared in laughter, running to your bed.
“SERIOUSLY?!” Her face had become red and she was giggling while grabbing your arm. Your eyes went wide as you saw her. “Five days in Florence with him?”
“Oh, please, Rox…”
“Oh, no. Don’t “please Rox” at me” she threatened, pointing at your chest with her index finger. You rolled your eyes and lifted your hands in defeat. “You better take your best lingerie to the trip”
“Roxy!” You felt your body heating up and you huffed, trying to hug your pillow but your friend took it away from you, hitting you with it.
“C’mon. When are you going to tell him?”
“Tell him what?” She raised her eyebrow and hugged your pillow, smirking at you. “He’s not into that. He loves girls. In plural”
“Bullshit”
“What’s bullshit?”
You and Roxy jolted and turned your head as you heard Eggsy’s voice on the door. He had his arms crossed and observed at you, suspicious. You pushed Roxy out off your bed and your friend shouted, falling on the floor. You stood up and took your bag, glancing at your watch.
“Nothing. We better go. The plane will take off in fifteen minutes” You turned to Roxy, who was smiling brightly. “Take care of Bucky”
“Sure” She saluted you, petting your dog’s head. You turned on your heels and walked towards the corridor, listening as Eggsy said goodbye to Roxy before following you.
The way to the plane was made in comfortable silent. Once you were sat, you placed your headphones in your ear, closing your eyes as the plane started to fly to Italy. You could feel Eggsy’s eyes on you and you huffed, opening yours and staring at him.
“What?”
“Nothing. I was asking myself why you hate me”
“I don’t hate you, Eggsy” You spoke softly, placing your headphones inside your bag as you frowned, watching as he sighed and nodded, looking outside the window.
“Yeah, sure”
You settled yourself in the couch and mimicked him, sighing. You weren’t lying. You didn’t hate Eggsy at all. Actually, you hated yourself more than him. You had been recruited by Merlin as your mother had been one of his best friends. You became part of Kingsman with better marks than anybody else did after weeks of hard work. Roxy became one of your best friends as Eggsy did.
He seemed a sweet and caring man. He was always there to comfort you when you felt sad and he made you smile and laugh until your tears ran down your face. You started to fall in love with him but you discovered that would only break your heart. He loved girls. All of them. Always flirting and winking at them only to strut down the corridors of the headquarters with that smug grin on his face.
God, you hate him. And hated you for hating him. He was a free man, and he could do whatever he pleased. But still, it hurt.
You decided your best option was to keep your distances with him until you had forgotten him enough. You wanted to take care of yourself.
“Do you want to study our profiles?” He said, leaning against the table and taking his folder. You imitated him and opened it, reading out loud.
“Juliette Garnier, born in Paris from French father and Italian mother. She worked as a gallery owner when she met Lord Blackwood during a trip to Greece to negotiate an exposition of Ancient Greek sculptures”
“Sounds good. Do you speak French?”
“And Italian” you replied without taking your eyes off the files. You didn’t realise the astonished gaze Eggsy had on his eyes and the way he bit his bottom lip. “We should stipulate our story. How we fell in love and everything”
“Easy. I talked to you and you fell down on your knees” You chuckled at his fake arrogant statement and looked at him while leant back against the couch. Eggsy smiled, his green eyes shining. “I’ve missed your laughs”
You felt yourself blushing and looked at your hands, mumbling something before the pilot talked over the speakers, warning you of the imminent landing. You pressed your nose against the window.
“Oh my god…”
Florence was displayed to your eyes. Magnificent. Stunning. Immortal. The dome of Il Duomo di Firenze shone with the last rays of sun. You smiled as your gaze moved from one building to the other, remembering your moments with your mother.
“It’s beautiful” Eggsy said, standing by your side and you nodded, smiling at him.
It was almost time to sleep when you got to the hotel. You two were tired, carrying your heavy bags. Apparently, Merlin had thought the best way your fake relationship worked was to made it real, so he had booked only one room. The most expensive one, but still.
You let your bag fall on the floor and sat down on the couch, typing Merlin the details of your arrival, as promised. He replied moments later, stating you would have your clothes for the gala on Saturday morning so you could get ready. You read out loud the information and Eggsy nodded, clearing his throat. You frowned and looked at him.
“I can sleep on the couch”
“What?” You stood up, shaking your head while crossing your arms. It was true the idea of sleeping with the man you liked wasn’t the most intelligent one, but still. “We’re adults. We’ll be fine. As long as you don’t kick me, that’s fine”
“I think I can do that” He chuckled while taking off his sweatshirt, leaving him on a plain black t-shirt. You kept your few belongings and took your towels and underwear, running to the bathroom. Eggsy saw your idea and tried to catch you but you were faster and slammed the door on his face. “Damn it! That’s not fair!”
While you were taking your shower, Eggsy read his profile to you. Matthew Blackwood, art lover and one of the best executives of England. According to Merlin’s information, he owned several pieces of art, including Degas, Klimt and Vermeer. After meeting Juliette, he had fallen in love with her, asking her to marry him after two years on a romantic relationship. Her father was a French count and her mother and opera singer.
“Actually, that’s kind-of true” You said, leaving the bathroom with your hair still wet and wearing a bathrobe. Eggsy frowned and you shrugged, smiling at him.
“Wait, is your father a count” You snapped your head back as you laughed, watching his confused face. “It’s not funny!”
“No, I’m not a member of the aristocracy, thanks god” you added rolling your eyes, settling yourself by his side. “My mother is an opera singer. She’s known as La Ferreti, even though she has a different name”
“Woah, that’s really cool!” He exclaimed and you chuckled, looking at him. “La Ferreti?” He said in an attempt to pronounce it well. You did it and his jaw fell open at your Italian accent. “You’re amazing”
“I’m not. I just was born in lucky circumstances, I think”
Eggsy placed his arm over your shoulder, dragging you closer to him and you both stayed in that position for what felt ages. Time passed and his nose touched your forehead, his thumb caressing your jaw. You felt goosebumps and shivered, closing your eyes.
“I’m sorry, Y/N but I need to have a shower. Besides, I don’t know what shower gel or skin cream you use but you smell like fruit and all I want is to bite you” He chuckled and stood up, grabbing his clothes. You let a shaky breath escape your lips and took your phone, reading your messages.
[Five days alone. Florence is breath-taking by night. Just saying]
[And take him to the dome. He’ll love it]
You rolled your eyes at Roxy’s messages and hurried to change into your pyjamas before Eggsy got out the shower. You dried your hair and combed it, looking at yourself in the mirror. Definitely, you needed some rest. The last mission had been exhausting and you still had jet lag from your journey to Japan.
When Eggsy came back, you were in bed, under the duvet with your eyes closed. He knew you were still awake and got himself in the bed, after turning off the lights. The mattress shifted under his weight and you felt his hands pulling the blankets.
“Oh, c’mon. I know you’re awake” You whined at pulled, making him to huff and snort, hearing him taking a deep breath before he spoke again. “Okay. You asked for it”
You frowned at his words when you felt his fingers tickling you, making you to jolt and scream, moving away from him. He laughed and stopped, hearing your pants and your curses. You gave up and let him have his part of the duvet, closing your eyes.
“Goodnight, fiancée” you huffed and he chuckled again, nudging you under the blankets. “Goodnight, Y/N”

One. Two.
“Where were you? The dresses are here” Eggsy looked at you as you came inside the room, your eyes looking at the floor while you placed your bag on the table. You sighed and observed the bags with the logo of Elie Saab and the boxes. Merlin had thought of everything, it seemed.
“I needed to take some fresh air. Where were you?” you replied bitterly, grabbing the hanger of the dress and placing it high so you could unzip the bag.
“I was…wait, what?” Eggsy frowned and you turned, your arms closed and a cold glare on your eyes. His jaw fell open as he realised and he rubbed his face with his hand. “You saw us”
“Smart boy” you said and took your belongings, raising your index finger. “Don’t try to say anything. I don’t care anymore. Go with your princess”
You slammed the bathroom door, hearing Eggsy’s fist knocking on it, calling your name and trying to convince you to go outside. You sighed and pressed your back against the door, holding your tears. Minutes later, you heard him moving and you got inside the large bath after filling it with hot water and a lush bath bomb. You closed your eyes and tried to relax your muscles, reminding you the details of the mission.
You spent the next hour putting on your make up and combing your hair so you were ready. You wore you blue lace lingerie and covered yourself with the bathrob before going outside. Eggsy was on the phone, mumbling something and observed as you appeared from the room, his jaw falling open at the sight.
“I’ll call you later, Harry”
“Eggsy, don’t you dare…”
He hung up and put his hands inside the pockets of his sweatpants, watching as you fumbled with the shoes and the dress. It was a beautiful black piece with a body made of white diamonds linked together over a piece of black muslin. The skirt was made of muslin with different tones of black and grey.
“Go to have a shower, Galahad” you said and he nodded obediently, watching as you sat on the bed, typing something in your phone. Eggsy sighed when he was inside the bathroom, blaming himself for what had happened. He should have thought of it before having breakfast with the Swedish princess.
Once you heard the water, you got out the bathrobe, placing the dress over your body, sighing. God, it was beautiful. The kind of dress you’d never be able to afford unless you found your own Tony Stark. Merlin spared no expense on your cover. You put it on, watching as if it had been made especially for you, wearing the heels. You twirled, observing your reflection in the mirror. You sent a photo to Roxy, giggling at the answer.
[Mhhm, hello?]
[You’re so sexy]
[Damn, I’d ask you to have a date with me if I didn’t know you liked Eggsy]
[Merlin and Harry liked it too]
Just as the last message appeared in your phone, your tablet lightened up with an incoming video call from Merlin. You accepted and his face displayed on your screen, along with Harry’s and Roxy’s. They all opened their mouths at the sight of your face with the makeup.
“Y/N, my dear” Harry said just as Eggsy came out the room wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. Your eyes followed the drops falling down his back. You focused your attention back to the screen. “You’re delightfully beautiful”
“Thank you, Harry”
At his words, Eggsy turned to you, eyes opening wider and mouth open as he realised you were there. Your eyes fixed on his green ones, observing as he swallowed hard and started to stammer, making him to chuckle, taking the tablet between your fingers.
“It seems Eggsy agrees with you” You turned the screen so they could see him, wearing his black briefs and he shouted.
“What are ya doin’?” You roared in laughter as he attempted to cover himself, his face blushing, and you turned the camera to you again. Roxy had an amused gesture on her face. Even Harry was smiling. “Damn it”
“Eggsy, manners” Harry scoffed and the boy rolled his eyes, making you to smile. “Are you mentally prepared?”
“Yes, sir”
Merlin began to display to you the details of the night. You would be inside a car that belonged to Kingsman, with some agents inside, faking to be your chauffeur. You’d be inside the party and you’d have to socialise with the guests while analysing them. You had to discover the assassin before she could do anything and drag her out without any further incidents.
“Is everything clear?”
You lifted your head the moment Eggsy entered the living room, his hair now combed perfectly. He was wearing a black suit with a pearl white shirt and a tie that hung loosely around his neck. His long fingers were fixing his cufflinks before straighten up his jacket. You felt your mouth getting dry and missed the gaze exchange between Roxy and Merlin, who smirked.
“Yeah, I’ll call you when it’s done”
You turned off the device and stood up, walking towards Eggsy, who was in front of the large mirror, fighting against the tie while mumbling curses. His green eyes looked at you on the mirror and you sighed, turning him. Your fingers worked easily and quickly while his gaze was fixed on your lips.
“Done” you said once the tie was hanging neatly from his neck. You smoothed the wrinkles of the shirt, touching the jacket before leaving. Eggsy’s hand tried to grab your wrist, but you two had the same training and you freed yourself. He groaned and pressed your body against his.
“You smell good”
“You too”
“What I said in the dome. It was true. It was all true”
Eggsy seemed desperate for you to believed him but you limited yourself to sigh and take your purse while you walked towards the door, saying you had a job to do. The boy swallowed and put his glasses on, having immediate connection with Kingsman’s headquarters.
“Hey, fucker” Roxy said and he growled, hearing her laughs. “You better fix what you did”
“You think I don’t know? God”
“She’s an incredible girl, Eggsy. Don’t lose her or you’ll regret it”
He sighed and straightened his tie one more time before following you.
-O-
The party was the definition of wealth and opulence. The palazzo was exquisitely decorated and the rooms’ walls were covered by masterpieces. You could recognised a Caravaggio, a Vermeer and several Picassos. Around you, several languages were spoken, some of them not understandable to you.
“Dupont. On your left” You muttered on Eggsy’s ear as he guided you with his hand on the lower part of your back. You two smiled brightly and the man turned to you, greeting him.
“Lord Blackwood” he said with a strong French accent while turning his attention to you, grabbing your hand to place a kiss on it. “Et mademoiselle Garnier, c’est ça?” (And Miss Garnier, right?)
“Monsieur Dupont” you greeted, smiling at him, speaking perfect French while Eggsy deployed his charms on an old Italian lady who was talking with him. “C’est un plaisir” (It’s a pleasure)
You looked out the corner of your eye as something caught your attention. You frowned and turned your face towards the bar, where a sensual woman was drinking from her glass. You froze as you recognised the long and beautiful red hair.
Anna Ivanova.
She was your oldest enemy. You had met her during your first mission on Kingsman and she had escaped after you had almost died. Merlin blamed himself for that and you decided you would be the one who would take her down. You confronted Anna several times before and she always escaped.
Anna had been a member of the Russian Intelligence. She was smart, charming, spoke several languages and was considered one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Nobody knew her face as she was an expert on using latex and make up but you knew it.
She was your assassin.
“Merlin” you muttered after you had escaped to the garden, hearing the crickets around you. You looked around you and spoke again once you were sure you were alone. “Ivanova is here”
“What?!” Roxy and Merlin said at the same time.
“She’s probably our assassin. Track her. We could find who ordered the murder. I must come back”
“Be careful out there. She doesn’t like you”
“Oh, really?” You hissed, changing the com so you were sure you were talking to Eggsy. “Eggsy, Ivanova. Take her down. The agents will be prepared outside”
“Understood”
You walked towards Dupont, starting a chat about masterpieces and the world of the art collections, dragging him over the room. Sometimes, he would stop to talk to other guests and you would take a glance. Eggsy was clearly flirting with Ivanova. Her plump lips were curved into a smirk and you regretted your order. You were terrified she could harm him.
“Monsieur Dupont” You dragged him out the room while his eyes were observing you, astonished. You decided to use one of Merlin’s alibi, taking out of your purse one of the false IDs Kingsman had given to you. “French Intelligence Service”
“Quoi?” he muttered, not being able to understand anything, reading the document before you kept it again.
“We’ve been tracking a thief who wanted to steal some paintings. It is crucial that you follow my instructions very carefully”
You displayed the plan an agent of the French Intelligence would have created and Dupont believed you, following you to the part. One of the Kingsman agents walked by his side and you nodded at the two people, walking towards Eggsy, whose lips were ghosting over Anna’s. You took a deep breath and gripped her elbow.
“You better stay away from my man, милая (Honey)” You observed Eggsy’s hand inside his pocket and you knew he was pointing at her with his gun. You dragged her carefully outside, where Kingsman agent handcuffed her. Anna looked over her shoulder, her emerald eyes fixed on yours.
“Мы встретимся вновь” (We’ll meet again)
Eggsy and you got into the car that would drive you to the hotel. You texted Merlin to explain the mission had been a complete success and that they better kept Anna locked away. You didn’t say anything during the trip and neither did Eggsy. You took off your heels with a sigh and walked towards the lift, where you looked at the floor, not noticing Eggsy’s eyes on you.
Once you got to the suite, he closed the door and slammed you against the wall, his hands grabbing your waist and pinning it. You swallowed hard, staring at his lustful eyes while his lips curved into a smirk.
“You don’t know what you do to me, right?” You shook your head, not sure if you were able to speak. Eggsy dropped your purse and heels to the floor and buried his face on your neck, biting it. You held a moan and he chuckled, noticing as your hips pressed against his. “Speaking all those languages, with that dress. God, I’ve been wanting to fuck you the whole night”
“Eggsy…caro mio (my darling)” He stopped to stare at you in awe, growling before placing his hands behind your thighs, lifting you effortlessly and walking to the room. He let you on the floor and stepped back, looking at you and licking his lips.
“Strip. Now” You obeyed, taking off the dress carefully, leaving it on a chair. You didn’t want it to have wrinkles. Eggsy swallowed hard at the sight of you in your lingerie. “Fuck me”
“Is that a suggestion or an order?”
“Both” he growled, his voice husky and low. He took off his jacket and you yanked his tie, dragging him to you. He smirked and lifted his eyebrow. “Since when are you in charge, love?”
“Since the day we met and you kissed the mat” you lifted your eyebrow and pushed him to the bed, Eggsy watching you, astonished. Your lips curved into a smirk and you kiss his earlobe, hearing him hissing. His hands went to grab your ass, smacking it. You jolted and moaned.
“Oh, love…” he muttered, his hand moving to your hair and forcing you to look at him. “I can’t wait to hear all those sounds”
Your hands went to your back and unclasped your bra, tossing it. Eggsy’s green eyes opened wider and his lips bit and licked your neck, leaving lovebites before reaching your nipple. His tongue played with it while his finger did the same. You moaned and your back arched, pressing your chest further against him.
“Eggsy…” you whined, tugging at his hair, making him to groan against your soft skin. His hand grabbed your underwear and ripped it in half and you screamed. “It was my favourite!”
“I’ll buy ya more, love”
Eggsy laid on his back and patted your leg while your hands roamed over his chest, unbuttoning his shirt and taking it off with the tie. Your nails scratched the soft skin and he hissed, swallowing hard at the sight. Your hips rolled over his clothed bulge and he groaned, closing his eyes. You smirked and moved, straddling his head. His hands grabbed your thighs and licked your core as if his life depended on it. You moaned and placed your hands on the mattress, feeling your legs shaking.
“Oh, god, Eggsy!” you shouted and moved your head back, closing your eyes. You tried to separate from him but he pressed your core against his mouth, his tongue circling your clit. You cried in pleasure as he kept going on, his right hand touching your breast. Your legs became shaky like jelly and you bit your lip, moaning and whimpering as you felt a knot inside your stomach.
“C’mon love. Cum for me”
He sucked and licked and you were done. Your back arched as you felt your orgasm going on waves over your body. You whined as he cleaned your juices and Eggsy rubbed your ass before smacking it. You rolled on your back, breathing heavily. He chuckled and hugged you, caressing your skin with his fingertips as his lips peppered kisses on your forehead.
“Are you okay?” you nodded and smiled at him, closing your eyes as he kissed you, your teeth nipping at his lower lip, making him to growl. “Love…” he warned, grabbing the tie and using it to restrain your hands. You complained and he smirked, placing you on the pillows before fumble with his belt, unbuckling it. He licked his lips and took off his briefs, stroking himself.
“Ебать меня. (Fuck me)”
“I don’t know what you said but damn, you’re so fucking sexy” He rubbed his length against your folds and bit your neck, getting inside you. You moaned and circled his waist with your legs, pressing him further against you. He growled and waited until you had got used to him.
“Move, for god’s sake, Eggsy!” You cried and he rolled his hips against you, making you to moan. He kissed you, swallowing your whimpers and moans as he thrusted inside you harder and faster. You tried to move your hands, feeling the silky tie against your wrists. Eggsy lifted your leg and placed it on his shoulder, hitting your g-spot. You screamed his name as he kept going on.
“Look at me. Fuck!” He groaned as he kept his green eyes on you. You bit your lips, the room filled with your filthy sounds. His hand went between your bodies and circled your oversensitive clit, making you to cry in pleasure, feeling your heart bumping against your chest as you approached your orgasm. “Please, go on, sweetheart. I’m behind you”
You shouted his name and arched your back against his chest as your whole body shivered as waves of pleasure went over it. He kept thrusting until his movements became sloppy, filling you while he moaned. His body fell on top of you. You two tried to catch your breaths before Eggsy went to grab a wet towel to clean you both. You covered both with the blankets, hugging him.
“The princess…it was by chance. She had come to Dupont’s party and tried to flirt with me to have another affair with me. I said that I was in love with someone else”
“Roxy?” you said teasingly and he chuckled, mumbling something before kissing your forehead.
“Silly girl” He looked at you, rubbing your cheek with his thumb. “I love you”
“Anch’io”
“Stop talking like that or you won’t be able to walk until we go back to London” You laughed and winked at him, biting your lip.

One.
The sun peeped through the curtains as the breeze moved them softly. The city was already awake, and your ears got used to cars honking, voices speaking in different languages and a child screaming as the mother said calming words in Italian. You blinked several times before your eyes familiarized with the light and the environment.
You were not in your bed. The mattress felt different and the blankets were made of the finest linen. You were in a hotel room. The best suite, according to the living room you could see from your position and then your brain remembered. You were in a mission for Kingsman. In a mission with…
Oh.
Eggsy.
You tried to move and it was when you felt a heavy weight on your torso. Eggsy’s pale arm was around your waist, his fingers lingering on the soft skin of your stomach as your pyjama’s shirt had lifted during your sleep. You made a grimace and tried to get up the bed, only to feel his arm gripping you harder against his chest. You could feel it, bare, pressing against your back as he breathed softly, immersed in his sleep. Eggsy mumbled something unintelligible. You puffed and whined lowly in an useless attempt to escape his grip. He buried his nose in your hair, rubbing it against your earlobe.
“Y/N” he muttered and you froze, swallowing hard and noticing your body heating up. You were afraid your own heat would wake him up.
“Eggsy” you whispered, poking his chest with your index finger after you had managed to roll so you were facing him. “Fuck. Eggsy, move the fuck up”
He growled and rolled, sleeping on his chest and you sighed in relief, standing up and walking towards the telephone to order breakfast for you two before sitting down with the files, reading about the target. According to the information given by Roxy, the assassin had been in Kingsman’s list for a few years. She was silent and deadly to the extreme, receiving the codename of “Black Widow” which, you had to admit, was elegant.
“What the hell are ya doin’?” Eggsy’s grumpy voice made you lift your head and you smiled at the sight in front of you. He was rubbing the back of his head while he blinked. His pyjama’s trousers hanged loosely form his hips. You cleared your throat at the sight and looked at the files.
“Just reading the information we have about the target”
“Workaholic”
You rolled your eyes when a knock on the door made you turned your head. Eggsy tensed by you calmed him telling it was just room service bringing the breakfast. He walked towards the door, not caring on putting on a shirt and opened it.
“Buongiorno, Signor Blackwood” The man placed the tray on the table that was in the balcony and greeted you with a movement of his head. You mimicked him and smiled politely, covering your files with several magazines. Eggsy closed the door and smelled in the air.
“God, I’m so hungry” He growled while walking to the balcony, looking at you. “Stop working for now. We’re on holidays”
“We’re not” you replied, sitting down and serving yourself a cup of tea and spreading the jelly on the bread, watching as Eggsy did the same. “We’re working”
“Technically. But that doesn’t mean we must stay here all day. Let’s go and see the city. It’s my first time here. You’ll have to show me” He winked at you and you snorted, biting the toast. “You could even teach me some Italian”
“So you can flirt with other girls, my fiancé?” You teased him and his face changed abruptly. His eyes were fixed on your face, trying to discover what was behind your mask. You continued eating and read your messages, ignoring Roxy’s ones. Eggsy sighed and continued eating in silence.
One hour later, you were down the streets of Florence, admiring the beauty that surrounded you two. You wore a long dress with floral prints. Eggsy was bewildered at the buildings. You smiled as you observed him, knowing he might suffer the Stendhal syndrome by the end of your trip.
“Do you like it?”
“I don’t know where to look” You chuckled and started to walk towards the Galleria dell'Accademia di Firenze where you showed him the statue of Michelangelo’s David. Eggsy opened his mouth when he saw it, his neck back in order to look better at it.
The day passed and you visited the Palazzo Vecchio, also called Palazzo della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. You stopped to eat pizza and gelatti and Eggsy smiled at you while you were eating yours.
“What?”
“Nothing. I’m just having a lot of fun, you know. Beautiful city. Beautiful company…” he let the words float to you and you smiled, looking at your ice-cream while he placed your hair behind your ear. “What are we doing now?”
“Aren’t you tired?” you asked, tasting the savour and closing your eyes at it.
“Nah. I think we can do anything else” You bit the plastic spoon, thinking, while Eggsy stared at you.
“What about watching the nightfall on the dome of Santa Maria dei Fiori?” You said wiggling your eyebrows at him, smiling. He stood up and offered his arms, walking with you.
Half an hour later, you two were on the dome, observing the town at your feet. Eggsy had his arm around your waist while his green eyes moved to the different buildings. It was a breath-taking view. You remembered every time you visited Florence and went to the dome, losing yourself on the atmosphere. The first time you were there you were about five years old and your mother had brought you there.
“I will never forget this moment, Y/N” Eggsy turned to face you and you stared at his shiny eyes. His fingers caressed your bare arms and you shivered at his contact. He leant against you, his nose rubbing against your jaw. You bit your lip and looked at him through your lashes.
“Eggsy…”
“Let me kiss you, please” he pleaded, his voice full of pain. You felt your heart bumping against your chest. You saw his Adam’s apple moving and your eyes followed his tongue as it went over his mouth. You sighed shakily. “Please, Y/N…”
“Eggsy…”
His hands cupped your face and dragged you closer to him, pressing his lips against yours. You closed your eyes, gripping his shirt with your hands. His right hand moved to your waist and the left one to the back of your neck. You moved away to catch your breaths, looking at the other.
“I thought…I…” you stammered and he chuckled, kissing your nose, shaking his head.
“I thought you hated me”
“I thought you didn’t like me. You were always surrounded by girls…”
“Because you ignored me!” He exclaimed, roaring in laughter. You chuckled too, feeling a knot inside your throat. “I believed you didn’t like me!”
“We just two fools”
“Agreed” he said, laughing and cleaning the tears off his eyes. He hugged you and pressed a soft kiss on your lips, looking at you as if you were the most beautiful masterpiece in Florence. “Let’s go. I need to sleep”
-o-
Your eyes opened when your heard a man shouting on the streets. You stretched your limps, hoping Eggsy would be there, with his arm pinning you to the bed. But, surprisingly, the other side of the bed was empty. You frowned and stood up, looking for him in the bathroom or the balcony. You were alone in the room.
You took your phone and answered Merlin and Roxy’s messages, noticing Eggsy hadn’t left a single note. You dressed and went out, walking towards the corridors, calling Roxy in the meantime.
“What do you mean by missing?”
“He’s not in the room. And he didn’t leave a note”
“Okay, Y/N. Keep calm and think where he might be. If he keeps being missed, I’ll warn Merlin”
“Thank you”
You hung up and walked (well, ran) down the corridor to the main doors, stopping abruptely when you saw him. You heart sank down as you observed he was accompanied by a blonde, tall woman. She was smirking at him and then, she leant to grab his hand. Eggsy smiled back and winked at her. You repressed a sob and turned on your heels, running to the streets.
The passer-by ignored you, immersed on their own problems and you started to walk, letting your feet to lead you somewhere. You felt the tears running down your cheeks and stopped at the Ponte Vecchio, watching the river Arno. Behind you, tourists talked in mixed languages, different from each other.
[False alarm, Rox. He’s a…]
[What?]
[I told you. He was into girls. He lied]
She kept messaging you, but you ignored the buzzing phone inside your pocket, sitting on a bench, cleaning your tears with the back of your hand. You felt stupid. Terribly stupid. Thinking Eggsy could be in love with you. Nonsense. You remembered the walk to the hotel last night. You two were holding each other’s hands. Once you got to the room, you could have cut the tension with a knife.
“I prefer to wait. Not today” Eggsy had said and you had agreed. You two were tired of a whole day walking and visiting monuments and you had three more days for you two.
“Stupid” you muttered to yourself, taking your phone to read your messages. You wrote what had happened to Roxy and she sent you several crying emojis. You had a message from Eggsy too.
