Oh man I feel that with German Shelters. When i was looking around all the kittens were for in/outdoor only, and the indoor cats availible were basically all shy, elderly, and didn't like humans. The kind of cats that get into the shelter when their owner gets too old. I overheard a conversation between staff and an adopter that was basically "its so good you want an outdoor cat! Most people want indoor only >:/" like maybe.... rethink your business model...

Oooh heathers x transformers headcanons, very nice! Although I'm very boring and just go with heathers = seekers, Starscream as Heather Duke and Thundercracker as Heather M. ... have you ever thought of Headcanons for the musical "Hadestown"? Megatron and Starscream as Hades and Persephone is fun, and I just really like the musical :>

Yeah I think the Seekers are the best fit for the Heathers overall, though I go with Starscream = Heather C, Thundercracker = Heather M, and Skywarp = Heather D. Then I go with Windblade as Veronica and Chromia as JD. Alternatively I have Starscream as Veronica, Megatron as JD, and Functionalists/Senators as the Heathers and the Jocks. 

I’ve not really heard of Hadestown, but I absolutely love both musicals and Greek mythology so it sounds like something I ought to investigate.

Ignore this if you want, but what is Golden Kamuy about? I know I could Google, but I really like how you word and describe things and I thought it would be best to ask sb who already is a fan :D btw the fanart you reblog is gorgeous for sure!

Golden Kamuy is, briefly, a story about a Japanese ex-soldier and a young Ainu (indigenous) girl on a quest to track down a number of criminals who have tattooed upon their body an encoded map to a grand stash of gold all across the winter wilderness of Hokkaido in 1900′s Japan.

What really makes this series shine is its expressive art style, its hilariously entertaining comedic timing, as well as it’s deeply informative story about Ainu culture – hunting and cooking, especially.

The indiginous Ainu are NOT japanese, and they’re discriminated in a similar way to how america discriminates its native americans, or mexico its own indiginous populations. Through the eyes of our self proclaimed “Immortal” protagonist and his budding friendship with this incredibly competent and determined young girl, we come to learn more about the Ainu and their struggles and rituals and how they view the world as compared to how the japanese traditionally see it. As a non-japanese person, myself, I also learned a LOT about Japanese history and how the country shifted following the Russo-Japanese War in 1905. I hadn’t even KNOWN Russia had anything to do with Japanese history, which, in retrospect, reveals just how ignorant I am about World History XD;;

Historical setting aside, Golden Kamuy is a deeply heartfelt story, even amid the hilarity and the violence. I love every character a bunch. Everyone has a backstory and a motivation for why they are doing what they are doing, but there is still a LOT of character development and really entertaining character interactions. I keep flipflopping as to who my favourite character is because I love everyone so much!

Fair warning, though: there IS a lot of violence in this story. Not just to humans – Ainu hunt to survive and the manga has an emphasis on cuisine, so we get to see how best to cook and skin a bear and how best to season a flavourful fish dish, etc. So I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this manga to vegetarians or folks who are squeamish about graphic violence.

If you don’t mind that though, I DEFINITELY recommend this series. It’s definitely in my top 5 favourite seinen manga :D

I just kinda want to officially thank you for reblogging/ranting/drawing Golden Kamuy?? Because I've been reading it straight for the past 5 days and I LOVE IT. Never before have i read a manga with the same concentration. I wasn't bored even ONCE, I love every character, and it's exactly my humor?? I've been chewing the ears off of all my friends about it. I even got one to read it! It feels like the kind of manga I've been waiting for all my live, so even if it was totally by random, thx❤️!!

AHH! I’m glad my Golden Kamuy binge helped you get hooked on it, too!!! It’s fantastic, isn’t it? :D :D It’s definitely my kind of manga: a historical seinen with great comedic timing and action and, above all, super interesting characters who go through some hefty character development. <33
