Okay I've been dead for a bit so here's a lil thing on my mind that got added to thru dm convos with jc somewhat
Blocks' qualities of life within their respective world (because 1. I'm employed and 2. I'm working on a bigger art thing that idk if I'm gonna post atp lmao)
Best
Alphablocks
Colourblocks
Numberblocks
Wonderblocks
Worst
(Explainations below if you want to read/point out things that'd change this ranking do tell I'd really like to hear that :D)
This ranking is based on:
『• What they can do
• The roles the blocks take within their respective worlds
• The ratio of block chrs to other sentient chrs
• Importance of currency
• Rules that are to be followed
• And the world itself (like the properties of it)』
From best to worst
Alphablocks:
-> they're quite literally gods bru, can actually create anything/everything | the only feasible problem is just homonyms that seem to be uncontrollable as it's entirely possible for them to mean smth, spell said word and the magic creates the other definition
-> Tbh they're quite self-serving, like they aren't necessarily obligated to help the residents (more apparent in the newer series in which they do but they don't actually have to bc like kids show)
-> there are barely other any notable characters in alphablocks except probably Ben (idk if they're others but upon rewatch the only one I remember who wasn't a block was Ben)
-> obsolete, what the fuck is an economy
-> ig language rules and whatever English is on all the time lmao, idk how much impact that has, they seem to know how to spell words so I don't think that's too much of a hurdle
-> the world seems to be a white I guess land thing in the earlier seasons, they probably populated it with stuff off screen or smth after the hiatus, soo terraforming, a world of emptiness for them to literally shape
Colourblocks (typing it color from now on bc USAFREEDO-/j/neg but yeah autocorect will fight me and I dont feel like fighting back):
-> they can give life to uncolored objects by touching them (they also have the ability to give them unnatural properties by not coloring things properly) | only limitation is the object needs to exist before it's colored I'm pretty sure, tho idfk where red spawned all those stop signs from so maybe they can somewhat create stuff to be colored- maybe
-> these guys are more self serving than the alphablocks actually, nothing else really needs their service so they're kinda free to do as they need/want without much consequence
-> there are no other sentient chrs other than the blocks
-> I don't think there's money in this world and if it exists they aren't affected by it (actually it probably doesn't bc where in the fuck did sky get a plane)
-> they do have to color things a specific color in some cases, however this rule doesn't necessarily have to be followed
-> their world may be like a bit ig cruel concidering the fact we have no idea the length of time between red and blue's eps the sheer emptiness in the world would probably make a normal person go insane, so ig they're prone to loneliness esp like how they all debut, colors that like spawn together (I'm assuming indigo, violet and (lime this one's canon) have stronger attachments to those around them due to that factor
Numberblocks:
-> they can do simple operations, change values/selves with said operations, change shape based on the amount of blocks they are, some have extraordinary traits based on if they're composite (super rectangles), and they can duplicate because of magic mirrors
-> they're less self serving than the other 2 as most of em have jobs serving the other sentient life, but they have like time for themselves as well work life balance aw ye
-> while technically there can be an infinite amount of numberblocks there aren't atm, there are a finite amount of numberblocks in the world at all times because infinity cant really be achieved realistically (it's a concept to assist understanding of an ever increasing value, to evaluate end behaviors, convergence/divergence, continuity, and probably a bunch of other stuff idk abt yet) and the ratio of blocks to non block sentience is like 1 block : 25+ other sentient things (mainly blobs) so having said this the blobs would be the main population and so that's why I believe blobs run the government and all block facilities are created through MI-15 which was created and funded by the blobs (tldr the blocks service the blobs due to the population disparity also the fact blocks can just commit mitosis with the mirrors)
-> they do have an economy actually, and that was explained in the last segment mostly so I'm just going to say they all have jobs and money is of value to them
-> they obv have to follow the rules of mathematics which is p limiting ngl and does ultimately cement them in a service role
-> I'm sorry they have a guy with a numberblock specific diet, what the fuc k idc if they're unharmed I hate this guy, also again refer to the biggest chunk of text in this
Wonderblocks:
-> they can make code with others and then affect desired object with said code (this can only work with stop and go present)
-> they are very much of service to the other sentient life around them, there fr is only like idk maybe 1-3 eps where they aren't helping anyone with or without code
-> while there are more blocks than other characters they are ultimately useless on their own and are essentially born as they're needed so like that's kinda fucked if we concider them individuals (least they can just like live for themselves in the bg though unlike go and stop (who actually have more abilities independently as they can make things go indefinitely and stop indefinitely but a. that's about it and b. they never do that again) but with them starting and ending code segments they're expected to be available to help everyone with their problems
-> no known economy esp concidering the 3 bears were selling ice-cream for free
-> okay so this is probably the most limiting factor but they can't do anything without stop and go, in turn stop and go have extremely limited abilities by themselves AN D there's a possibility to fk things up badly, let's pretend the mud in that one ep (step by stepping stone) was lava or smth yeaH arty would have been d e a d/had a concussion due to that fk ass stump (bit extreme but mistakes genuinely have consequences here unlike the others amazing great yay <good for learning bad for them>) also another limitation is normally the code they make has to run to the very end even if there's a mistake within it realized by either stop or go. (Stop can break the loop but she often just doesn't until it's too late for whatever reason [ooh wait she also serves as a TTL (time to live) that's cool actually])
-> the world itself is probably js a computer imo but that's a hc, so stepping away from that there is some sort of reset AT LEAST FOR THE FIRST 15 EPS OKAY because the do blocks have to be resummomed for all of those eps and then ep 16 just has them all just there and existing I guess they became like a new normal after ep 16 and memory retention begins after ep 15 i guess holy shi that's strange and then when the world starts remembering stuff they fukin forget the world isn't resetting bc they expect the moving crew to drop out the sky that one ep (the world is strange asf okay like either their memory fails or the world's memory fails)
Tinfoil hatted kio^
