I’m converting & I haven’t yet felt comfortable wearing a kippah at shul. I know that I don’t need to be Jewish to wear one but I don’t own one & wearing the ones provided feels weird. SO! I’ve decided to make my own kippah (either knitted or crocheted) but I don’t know where to start. I have minimal knitting experience but that’s it. Is there anyone on Jumblr who might have a pattern or advice for making this on your own? I’d like to make a larger one that covers more of my crown if possible.

Hello! I’ve recently started going to synagogue again (I haven’t gone since I was very young) and I never wore a kippah when I used to go. My new synagogue is reconstructionist and welcomes any who would like to wear a kippah, and I also would like to do so. My question is, what is the optimal place to use a pin/clip to keep my kippah from falling off during service?? It was a major pain last time with us slipping down my head! (I have shoulder length, curly-ish hair if that makes a difference)

I crochet, and my Jewish friend wants me to make her a kippah. I have a pattern and everything, but I just wanted to double-check and be sure that it's okay to use yarn that contains wool, or would that not be kosher? I can use cotton or acrylic if sheep are a problem, I just need to know. Thank you and shabbat shalom.
