Are you still taking new asks for the Whump Wheel? If so... more Carryshipping please? 👀
Well I won't say no when you ask so nicely! ☺️ Anybody is free to submit a Whump Wheel ask still, but I am also working on a new shipfic ask game (based on @sesshy380's mystery prompt one) that I'll be doing soonish!
For the Whump Wheel Ask!
Okay, you get a fantasy AU for this one! Hope you like fantasy!
Ryou is an elven warlock (spooky boy supreme sold his soul to Zorc for magical powers), Tristan is a human paladin (strong moral compass, lawful good), and Joey is a dragonborn warrior (dragon!Joey gives me life, and he's a fighter at heart). They're on a quest to find the Magical MacGuffin, or maybe just being adventurers for the fun of it, and get lost in the woods on their way to their next destination. While lost, they encounter a band of highwaymen and while together they manage to fight them all off, Joey still takes an arrow to the side! Oh no! He tries so hard not to let it show how much the injury hurts him, because he's a big tough guy, but Tristan calls him out and forces them to set up camp at least temporarily so that he can safely remove the arrow from the wound and get it properly dressed. Ryou is fascinated with the injury (he's not the slightest bit put off by gore) and tries to comfort Joey with the assurance that he's going to have a really cool scar as a result. When Joey is patched up, they head back to the town they'd just left in order to find a healer. Ryou keeps the arrowhead as a souvenir, Tristan gives Joey a stern talking to about being careful and not taking risks (that's how he shows his care), and Joey is just very embarrassed to have been caught by the arrow at all. Once he's feeling more better, Tristan tells Joey that he can always make up whatever fun story he wants for explaining the scar, and that does cheer him up quite a bit.
“This is the second time Valon’s been alone with you and has ended up hurt,” he says, his voice low and threatening. “There will not be a third time. Understand?”
Thank you for the asks! I pulled from a lot of different WIPs for this one! And y'all are welcome to send in more asks if you're curious!
🦅 an angsty quote (something PAINFUL!! ouch ouch ouch!)
I've teased this fic several times before, but I honestly have no idea if I'm ever actually going to finish it? But I have so much written for it that I love, and I love every part of the concept, so maybe one day I will, and y'all can just overlook the two characters that are visiting from other franchises. 👉👈

“Don’t think for a moment, Pegasus, that I’ve forgotten a single second that I spent on your island.” Grey eyes flashed with anger as he turned on KaibaCorp’s long-standing business partner.
“That’s all in the past now, dear boy,” Pegasus dismissed with a wave of his hand. If he was trying to calm him down, it wasn’t working.
“All in the past? You stole my soul,” Mokuba growled, an old anger rising to the surface and finding an outlet for the first time. “You stole my brother’s soul. You turned him against the only people who could have helped him.”
“That was–”
“You kept me in a dungeon.”
“I wouldn’t have had to if you had stayed in the tower.” His calm response, so utterly remorseless, sent chills down a few spines.
“You wanted to sacrifice us. And if that wasn’t bad enough, you were trying to take over everything my brother had worked to achieve.”
🐧 a funny quote (silly! laughs! jokes! puns!)
Y'all, stop asking for funnies, I'm starting to run out... (from a deleted scene)

“Seto, I need some advice.”
Blue eyes blinked at him from behind a pair of wireframe glasses, and Ryou was surprised. He’d never seen Seto wear glasses before.
He removed them quickly—was he embarrassed about them?—and moved his chair to the side, leaning over a little to see his friend better around the computer monitors.
“I need to finish this first. It should only be a few minutes. Can it wait?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
Ryou nodded and wandered over to the couch pushed up against the wall to Seto’s left. At first he perched on the edge, but after a couple of minutes he relaxed a bit and sat more comfortably.
“You wear glasses now?”
“They’re just to protect my eyes. I spend a lot of time in front of computers.”
“They look good on you.”
"You don't have to say that."
"I'm serious." Ryou smiled thinly. "They make you look less intimidating."
"Then I probably shouldn't wear them at work."
Ryou laughed.
🐦 a romantic quote (can be sweet or sad or sexy, or just your favorite interaction between them!)
Looking for a "romantic" bit made me feel dumb lol. I was like, "Damn, do I even write romance???" I just couldn't find anything! 😅

"You know," Duke said with a slight smile, "That sounds exactly like the kind of thing Ryou says when he's trying to explain you to me."
"He explains me to you?" Kaiba looked confused and critical, unsure of what Duke meant and unsure if he liked it.
"Maybe the more accurate description is that he explains his perception of you to me. He sees you as a very complicated person."
"That's not inaccurate."
"Don't smirk at me," Duke teased. "Being complicated isn't something to be proud of."
Instead of replying, Seto kissed him, soft and simple.
So this was the kiss that Ryou told him about. Maybe he kissed this way when he felt vulnerable. It was worth asking about later.
"Thank you for trusting me."
🕊️ a sweet quote (something sweet, fluffy! maybe it's cute or funny banter! or sappy wedding vows!)
Some Kaibro affection. Joey is a golden retriever weredog in this fic, "Puppy Love."
~~~~~
Seto rolled his eyes.
“Seriously, Seto, what harm is he going to do?” Mokuba crouched down on the floor next to his dog and put an arm around his shoulders. Joey's ears perked up. “Just look at his sweet face! How can you say no to him when he's so adorable?”
“The same way I learned to say no to you,” Seto retorted.
Mokuba hugged Joey close and teased, “Did you hear that, Joey? He just called us adorable!”
🦤 a quote you had to delete :( (but still wanna share!)
I have SO MANY OF THESE! Y'all are welcome to send in as many dodo birds as you want! (this one does not get any explanation)
~~~~~
"His existence is anger and pain, punctuated by outbursts of violence. Doesn't that sound like someone you know?"
Ryou sputtered, momentarily speechless with anger.
"How dare you compare Seto to the Spirit of the Millennium Ring?!"
“I didn’t say a word about Kaiba,” Marik snapped back. “You filled that in on your own.”
Astonished and horrified, Ryou’s jaw dropped. He slowly closed his mouth and swallowed hard, tears pricking at his eyes.
“Don’t call him Kaiba,” he finally whispered, then whirled around and reached for the door handle.
For the meme: 5, 17, 21, 40 and 50 for Mumbleshipping?
Yeeeeeeeeeee thank you so much for asking about my boys!
5. What personality trait do they love the most about each other?
Oh, this is a fun one!
Seto loves how sweet and forgiving Ryou is. It makes no sense for him to be this kind or want to see the good in others, especially after everything he's been through, but he does, and Seto marvels at it a little.
Seto loves Duke's fearlessness. He's intimidated by nobody and nothing, ashamed of almost nothing, and he likes how spunky that makes him. Kaiba is pretty intimidating himself, and he kinda likes that one of his boyfriends is completely immune to it. It makes things very entertaining.
Ryou loves and admires Seto's unstoppable, unyielding willpower. This man is relentless, and Ryou can't relate to that, and he's kind of enchanted by it.
Ryou loves Duke's playfulness and positivity. He's not exactly optimistic, but he's a generally positive person, and it's a huge ray of sunshine in Ryou's life. Ryou is a cat just basking in Duke's presence.
Duke loves Ryou's vivid imagination. Sometimes it runs wild, and his eyes sparkle whenever he's deep into his story/character/scenario, and Duke thinks it's precious.
Duke loves Seto's genius brain and his technical prowess, and especially loves watching him do his inventing thing. The tinkering, the tools, Duke relates to it with his own tinkering.
Generally speaking, Duke loves to watch his boys when they're in the zone.
17. What do they have in common?
They all have a game obsession, and it's a different game for all of them. They all have abusive complicated relationships with their fathers. They all have missing mother figures. They all need to let go of their past so that they can truly move forward in a healthy way towards happiness. They all have a deep passionate side, even if it's not usually the forefront of their personalities.
21. Are they interested in having children? Why or why not?
I think Kaiba has a very complicated relationship with children/the idea of children, but he could be talked into it. There's fear of the repeating abuse cycles (and the past, generally), fear of failure, fear of loss. It's Seto's idea to adopt though, once they've all agreed to having kids, and Ryou agrees immediately. Duke is a bit more attached to the idea of "that's a little piece of me" or "that's a little piece of my beloved" running around; he wants that blood tie to his kid in some form; it's just a subconscious thing for him. He gets talked into adoption though.
40. Who tries to distract the other when they’re trying to do something else?
Duke is guilty of doing this on purpose more than anyone else. He can be needy for attention sometimes, that's just how it goes. Ryou is more likely to be distracting by accident, either just from being in the room and making it impossible for Seto to focus on work because he's just too cute bending over the shelves looking for new books, or Duke's finding it impossible to look at anything but Ryou when he's supposed to be paying attention to making dinner.
50. Who would protect who in a dangerous situation?
Kaiba's fear of loss (and inability to process it) makes him the most overprotective man in the universe. When his family is threatened, he pulls everyone into his mansion and shuts down the property with more security than Nanba Prison. He will not let anyone hurt the ones he loves. He was distracted in the past which led to Mokuba coming to harm a few times, and he's learned from his mistakes. This also means he's a little... controlling. In a dangerous situation though, he's the number one protector.
Duke is also pretty protective in his own right. We've seen him come to his friends' defense before (Serenity, Mai, Rebecca, Tristan), if anybody's in trouble he jumps right in. He's physically protective of Ryou, ofc, but he's also protective of Kaiba and Kaiba's reputation, so that manifests in a way that Ryou and Kaiba don't usually get to see. If anybody's hanging around The Black Clown and starts shit-talking Kaiba, Duke steps out from behind the counter or from his office to have words with them.
Which isn't to say that Ryou wouldn't protect them if he was given the chance, but he's very rarely in the position to do so. But Ryou is probably the most protective of Mokuba. (All the boys are protective of Mokuba, though.)
The other day I was wondering what sorts of shows the cornflakes would watch, so do you have any HCs about Duke's media preferences?
Oh boy! This isn't something I've considered before, but I think I've got an answer for you.
I think Duke will watch crime dramas as something that plays in the background and he's not always tuned in. That's for his casual watching. He probably watched some anime too and some action movies too, but again, that's casual background watching.
I think he would also watch C-dramas and K-dramas as an indulgence, but the boy works hard and plays hard, and he can't help that he falls asleep during episodes sometimes and his partner needs to wake him up enough to get him moved to his bed.
I think he's got a taste for drama, horror, thrillers, and action.
Sorry Ryou, but you should have known this was gonna happen to you. Joey would be my second choice, but I can't imagine a realistic situation where Tristan gets drugged. I think he's just too careful a dude.
The gang is over 21 and they all go out to a club. Ditzy Ryou isn't being as careful as he should be, and either someone slips something to him on purpose, or he grabs someone else's spiked drink by accident. Tristan, as resident dad-friend, is keeping tabs on everybody in the group, and notices almost immediately that something is up with Ryou. He and Yugi get Ryou sitting down somewhere before he passes out completely. Joey's already completely smashed, wild boy that he is, so the moment he comes over and is told what happens, he's ready to fight the first guy that even looks at them funny. Tristan's mostly sober still, so he gets Ryou on his bike ASAP and gets him home. Ryou is barely conscious, very nauseous, and Tristan chooses to carry him instead of trying to let him walk. Joey left the club too, had to get an uber, so he gets home a little after Tristan and Ryou. Tristan and Joey stay up with Ryou while he's sick. Joey sits with him and pats him on the back while Tristan is going to get the bed ready and get him water, and at some point Ryou and Joey just fall asleep on each other on the floor. Good Boy Tristan carries both of his boys to bed and gets them changed and tucked in, puts water and advil on the nightstand because he's got a solid guess how they're going to feel in the morning.
The next morning, Tristan scolds both of them a bit: "You need to be more careful!" But it's coming from a place of love and just cause he worries about them. Ryou is never going clubbing again, at least not without Tristan glued to his side at all times.
You are welcome to drop in my askbox with Carryshipping anytime, friend. 😉 I love to feed the rare pairs.
This fic is one of the ones I had a lot of fun with, as I tried to incorporate a lot of Easter eggs from the series; you’ll also notice nearly every character is in there too! It was funny because I had a few plot twists in there that I didn’t plan on and yet helped set up for later chapters, too.
I've shared this answer before in other ask games, but I have no problem resharing it lol.
I have my 20y/o son to thank. It had just begun airing in the US when he was born, and I am a cartoon and anime fanatic. By the time he was 2, we had a routine: Yu-Gi-Oh then midday nap. He refused to take his nap until he'd watched his daily dose of 'Yugi'. We still own most of Battle City on DVD. I fell in love with the story itself, and now here I am lol
-32. Favorite voice actor
I'm a bad fan. I don't have a favorite VA in the YGO franchise. Personally I think all the VA's are amazing. I guess if I had to pick one, it would be Dan Green. When I discovered he voiced both Yugi and Atem, I was blown away.
