Perhaps a controversial take here. But where Thaal is so very unwell about Hal belonging to him alone (as he should be <3), Thaal should ultimately reach the same level of derangment over Hal being the only one for him and thus belonging body and mind in equal measure to him.

Would it be utterly sick and twisted of me to put out a call for folks' Lantern playlists? I am oh so excruciatingly Normal about building playlists for my blorbos and adore seeing what songs people associate with them qvq

Thinking about. Korugarans having night vision. Ruining what, under most any other circumstances, would otherwise be an uncomfortably heartfelt moment.

Hal wakes up after a particularly dicey situation, resulting in definitely more than a few injuries- not on the battlefield. Rather, in a bed. Somewhere. In the dark.

It takes him a couple seconds, but he registers another presence to his side. Turns his heavy head towards the feeling, expecting maybe John or Barry snoozing in a chair depending where he is- And Hal's heart nakes a valiant attempt to escape through his throat when two glowing, gold rings pierce through the dark back at him.

Hal tries to throw his pillow at Thaal’s face, but realizes his arm is in a sling. And so throws a construct-pillow at him instead.

Also, in reference to Earth-2860 fics, been thinkin' 'bout. "Before Their Rings" kinds of stories again- not just how a Lantern got their ring for instance, but little scenes or summarized individual periods of their life- and remembering I REALLY need to at least finish the outlines I have sitting around (only Bro'Dee, Salaak, and Thaal rn)

Which makes me think. If I may toot my own horn just a bit. One of my favorite larger backstory changes/additions I've come up with for this AU is Bro'Dee's been through;

The death of both his parents, wife, first child, and presumably second child;

Total destruction of his home planet and its entire solar system;

Being abducted among many others from said planet;

Being imprisoned by intergalactic slavers for an amount of time he's still not quite sure of;

Leading his people (who he assumed were probably the last of their kind) in an escape off the slavers' ship;

Being recruited by two weird little blue. People? to be some kind of messiah (non-negotiable), forcing him to leave the relatively small group he'd just help rescue behind;

Later experiencing existential whiplash in finding more of his people were also abducted and are surviving scattered around the universe- yet feeling so alienated by not only the otherworldly things he's experienced but also the literal Entire Planet of guilt he holds on to that he can't bare to face any of his own kind;

and more!

...All while only being the equivalent of a human in their early/mid 20's qvq

I've been working on the character profiles here and there recently, and. I'm stuck on where Sin should be in terms of the 'verse's "current day" period.

Regardless of when, Soranik WILL be the sole leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps (she renames it when she takes over)- but before that, she's still co-leading it with Sin like how his solo series left off.

Eventually, however, Thaal is going to hit a wall with both mental and physical health, starting an undoubtedly years' long downward spiral. He initially relinquishes full control of the Corps to Sora and distances himself almost entirely with nect to no contact, only a small handful of Yellow Lanterns (namely Lyssa Drak, Arkillo, Slushh, Rigen Kale, Dez Trevius [who STAYS Yellow yes I'm retconning that], and Smithwick) choosing to follow him into self-imposed exile.

But even they're ultimately left behind when Thaal’s sunk so deep he completely disappears himself, managing to slip away without anyone being able to track him down, reprogramming his ring to no longer be visible to the rest of the Corps- thus severing that final connection and going completely rogue, once again solo like he was when he first managed to escape from the Anti-Matter Universe. Only he won't be a villain or hero, or even a Lantern really- just a cosmic roamer.

The thing I'm struggling with is how far into his washed up, rock bottom, loser old man arc he should be in present time qvq

Lads (gender neutral) I NEED to lock tf in and get back here, among a couple other projects, but this re-emerged Elder Scrolls obsession has hands of a most severe nature.

I have Two (2) more plotlines to write out from there for by homegrown blorbos, then I'll fight my own brain to dust this blog off and do things here again.
