Momma I have an important question to ask: How are Bruiser and Sammy getting along?? They’re the mascots of the blog, I must know their shenanigans, ples.
I have three doggies (technically 5 because of the strays at grandmas)
We rescued Bruiser when he was barely four weeks old abandoned on the side of the road (according to my sister) back in 2016 and he’s a Jack Russell terrier mixed with a Dachshund
Schmoo was rescued by my grandpa in 2015 and she’s a Heinz 57 chihuahua mix. She and Bru get along OK but bruiser is super aggressive and steals her toys and sits on them SPECIFICALLY so she can’t play
Big Momma and Baby Girl are mother and daughter. Big Momma was used as a puppy mill up the street (when I lived with my grandma) and after watching three litters of puppies die and be neglected we got her fixed and called the humane society. Sadly, they forgot two puppies, and I would try to warm them up the best I could even on school nights because they weren’t allowed inside. Only baby girl made it. This was in 2014-2015 before schmooly. Anyway! We got both fixed and now they relax in the sun and get all the scraps! They let the other dogs hang around the yard but won’t be afraid to put them in their place. Like adopted guard dogs really
Sammy used to be my neighbors actually, and he didn’t take very good care of him. He shoots his dogs for the hell of it and then gets new ones. Sandy and Tony were his dogs he put down just because. I mentioned them before a few years ago on this blog when I heard the news. Sammy was skin and bone when I saw him limping down the road, and he was so infected and so sick I knew he would die by either neglect or the hands of my neighbor. So I took him in with the help of my brother.
Bruiser is getting along with him kinda. He steals his toys and doesn’t like attention off of him, and growls at him all the time even tho he’s like a chicken nugget compared to Sammy, but they’re getting used to one another!
We got sammy a bone and he doesn’t know how to play with some of his toys we got too but at least he thinks the treat is yummy! Bruiser keeps trying to hide it under the couch lol
Sorry I just love the dogs we have, they all were in a sense, saved by us. Sammy is still trying to get used to cuddling, he likes to lay on you but if you try to adjust a little he thinks he’s in trouble and tries to hide. Poor thing just needs some time and all our love 🥰.
