I’m sure ppl have warned you about the long slog of quests until you get to Heavensward but 1) split them up and it’s not too bad 2) there’s some really important Story groundwork laid for HW in it. Also HW saw the entire cast get new voices, all of which are way better (except Merlywb *sob*).

Heavensward is life though it’s SO SO SO good

(sorry for spam but make sure you run the Crystal Tower raids if you haven’t, it’s a neat side story with Cid that won’t mean as much if you never played FF3 BUT it’s extremely plot relevant to Shadowbringers and you get some dialogue options that open up then if you do. Stormblood calls back to it also to a lesser degree. It’s old content that people blow through p quickly )

people definitely warned me about the quest slog pre-HW, but i’m mostly powering through it so i can unlock some of the later classes--i’m HIGHKEY excited about astrologian, even if the card thing sounds really daunting
