What was Kitaro's reaction to Mana's pregnancy? How did he react when Mana went into labor and gave birth? How did he react when Hinako was born?

New KitaMana Ask, oh happy day!!

Kitaro was completely stunned when he heard the news. Since Hanyou children are rare, they weren't entirely sure they'd even be able to have kids - not to mention that it wasn't long after they got married. So when Mana suddenly announced she was pregnant, Kitaro was sort of went, "what? really??" and couldn't muster much else - the reality of it wouldn't settle in 'till he felt the baby kicking inside Mana's belly for the first time.

Due to his own wife dying before she could give birth, Medama Oyaji was very on top of Kitaro about making sure Mana would be comfortable and safe when the baby arrived. Even so, Hinako still gave them a scare by being born a month early. A panicked Kitaro stayed by Mana's side the whole time, but she was comforting him more than the other way around.

Hinako was very weak at birth and Kitaro was terrified for her. He even considered taking a trip to hell to put pressure on Enma if things took a turn for the worse - but his little girl improved exponentially from then on and Kitaro was finally able to stop worrying about whether he'd really get to be a father or not, and started worrying about how to be a good father instead.

I wasn't sure if i should ask you about KitaMana stuff since the show was long-over & you moved on other anime shows, But since you still care about them & you are such a wonderful person, i want to share that the mobile game "PoyoPoyo!! Quest" is known for having new characters in events. So guess what...Seeing Kitaro, Mana & other GGGnK in their PoyoPoyo design as guest in the new event is so sweet & fills my soul with so much joy!!! Honestly, I was over the moon when i saw them in the game.🥰

Absolutely, feel free to come talk to me about KitaMana anytime! I may move on to posting about other shows to keep up with the changing anime seasons, but I’m always thinking about them!! Now that I think about it, I have a number of Asks I never got to... where does the time go!!?! I’ll answer eventually I swear!!! Regarding PoyoPoyo Quest, I’m not familiar with the game and wasn’t able to find any screenshots of the Kitaro guest designs you’ve mentioned ;;.;; but I’m sure they’re lovely ^^ thanks for telling me about it! I’m glad the series is still being included events and the like.

The Japanese KitaMana fans on Twitter are still actively posting art for them all the time as well, it’s lovely. I know I should draw art for them more too, shouldn’t I!? I’m just waiting for the right inspiration ^^;;;;

This week's Episode 94 & the dramatic KitaMana's whole scenes was THE KITAMANA that i always wanted to see and i enjoying every moment of it 😊😈, especially Mana with her spicy spirit, was played very well done ^^ This episode was delicious indeed...Unfortunately, things becomes really intense now that Nurarihyon and Backbeard are now joining forces! I'm really excited & can't wait to see how it's gonna to be finished ;;;^;;; But i'll like to hear you thoughts of this week's lovely episode✨💖

I’m so sorry for the slow reply!!! Given the state of affairs in many countries, I’ve been all over the place mentally…I really wanted to collect my thoughts and give a good response, but it’s nearly too late now isn’t it? But let’s try anyways.

Episode 94 was, of course, absolutely wonderful. I love Mana, and I lovelovelove KitaMana!!

I even got to see a much longed-for (and pleasantly intense) bridal carry with the two of them! I was over the moon~

But setting my shipping heart aside for a moment, this really was a very important episode for their friendship.

From the very first episode, it’s always been Mana approaching Kitaro.

She tries to help him, asks to be his friend, begs him to accept her as an ally - wanting to be not just someone for him to protect, but someone he can lean on, someone who’ll stand beside him no matter what.

Thanks to this constant struggle and Kitaro’s unending reluctance to reciprocate her friendly behavior, Mana is completely stunned when he appeals to the youkai inn manager on her behalf.

This was the first time Kitaro really, firmly acknowledged Inuyama Mana as someone precious to him, which touched her deeply. It’s one thing to assume you’re friends with someone, but after all this time, it’s clear Mana still had some doubts - did he really care about her as much as she did for him?

So when he calls her a dear friend, she’s moved to tears knowing that her feelings aren’t one-sided after all.

Kitaro from episode 1 would have never claimed this human was his friend with such confidence, let alone cherish her as an ally capable of supporting him in his weakest moments. It was a big milestone not just for Mana but for Kitaro as well, who’s finally decided to lower his walls and give in fully to the idea of living side by side with humans happily…

Which makes episodes 95 and 96 all the more heartbreaking.

Kitaro’s hope has died with him. The thought that youkai and humans really can’t coexist - that he and Mana can’t coexist - sends him into such deep despair that he simply stopped existing altogether.

And now he’s probably thinking they should have never become friends at all.
