Kitchen Session 5/19 Notes:
To all who attending the Kitchen Session: Thank you for your heart and your passion for this cause. The contributions were amazing, but even more was the sense of pride I felt for this family. The emotions (both hard and beautiful) within that house tonight reminded me why we do this. Alot of who I am both as a writer and an individual has been shaped by this community and the haven that comes with it. Sometimes when overcome by extreme emotion, my words come out a bit muddled, but I will never be able to express how grateful I am to have you all in my life and be a part of this family. The things you lot make my heart feel can not be compared to anything else. This will be cherished for a long, long time coming. All we have is us. Special thanks to James Caroline, Sam Oppenheim, Melissa Newman-Evans, Emily O'Neill, Meaghan Ford, Sophia Holtz, Zeke Zula, Kemi Alabi, Cassandra de Alba, Derek J G Williams, and Lorca. By the time I felt my house key click into its lock, the birds were waking up and the sky was growing lighter. A weight that has been pushing down on my chest for a very long past season seems to be finally drifting away. Y'all are responsible, and no words can describe how much you mean to me. See you all very soon.
