Pretty Little Psycho ✨
February is hard. Every year I forget how hard it is and end up feeling kicked in the face. But I have friends - spiritual and human. I have allies in the plant world that I know can help me navigate my way through this. Meet a few of these allies: eastern white pine, lemon, garlic, onion, lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, horseradish, hot pepper, and honey.
That’s right, it’s time to make another batch of fire cider. It turns out that during a pandemic, we consume a lot more of it than normal.
All of these (minus the honey) went into apple cider vinegar yesterday. These kind of old folk remedies work very well for me and my household - they taste good, boost our immune system, and can be easily enchanted as a protection potion to ward off illness or as a banishment potion when illness has already found us. We like to mix out fire cider 1:1 with a good whiskey (preferably rye).
Endometriosis Awareness Month 🌿 Tea for the Discomfort & Pain
Also known as gut-wrenching agony.
For any of you who suffer with endometriosis, you know it’s hard to describe the pain, much less be productive while it’s got you in its clutches. I know my endo is kicking my ass. SO. I have a tea recipe I use to tackle menstrual cramps, endo pain, lower back pain, and all the miscellaneous “female pains” that doctors are quick to write off. (Also: Fuck those doctors.)
**Obviously, I am not a doctor. This does not constitute medical advice or replace guidance from your physician. I’m just a patient with reproductive issues that painkillers can’t fix.**
~ The Tea ~
Bring 2 qts of water to a rolling boil. Add:
2 bags raspberry leaf (medicinal)
2 bags any raspberry tea (for flavor)
1/4 cup of loose tea, consisting of equal parts:
Nettles (reduces inflammation)
Red Clover (helps PMS / menstrual pains)
Elderberries (anti-inflammatory + antioxidants)
Ginger Root (anti-nausea, eases cramps)
If you don’t have spare tea bags, you can put the loose tea in a coffee filter in a sieve/strainer and keep it perched over the pot, but in the water so it can steep.
If you’re short on time, resources, or energy to deal with the loose leaf ingredients, the main focus is the raspberry leaf tea. Anything else you can add is just a bonus for muscle relaxing, anti-inflammatory, and flavor reasons.
The tea will be very dark because of the raspberry tea(s), so add honey to taste.

*Note: Do not consume raspberry leaf while pregnant unless directed by your doctor!

Ok so I promised a link to my cottagecore playlist yesterday. This is my favorite playlist and is my go to playlist for cleaning, cooking, witchy things, gardening, ect. It's about 12 hours long and is always being added to. It's also best played on shuffle. I hope you enjoy!

Mwahahahahaha!!!! I actually have the vaguest notions of a plan for Imbolc!
So feb 1st I work a 12hr shift, wont be able to do much that day. Plan is to hotbox after work and then take a long bath (which mean i'll be cleaning the bathroom when i get home tonight) I have an idea for a milky bath soak based on a few i've seen floating around.
Feb 2 is my regularly scheduled grocery shopping day. Asides from that, I aim to make an Imbolc chicken soup (if it goes well, i'll be posting the recipe!) And do however much spring cleaning I can with windows open for fresh air. There's a place near by that lets you do ceramic painting/candle making/glass fusing. Might go there w/ some friends and if I do, I'll probably make a spring/imbolc candle (now there's a thought. Make a candle each sabbat and use that for altar/spellwork/etc for the season 🤔)
Flavoured Syrup
For the kitchen witch that likes to infuse flavours into their craft. I got this idea from a couple of fellow witches and decided to give it a try. Ingredients are easy.
equal parts water and sugar (ie: 1 cup of sugar and one cup of water) for the syrup generous supply of whatever herb you are wanting to infuse into the syrup and even more water
For this tutorial I used red rose (food grade) and orange peel. I also used bottled water to make sure it was good clean water. Feel free to use different brands of bottle water. I, personally, used the 35 bottles for $3.50 at walmart.
