This past week and half it’s been all “I Live And Breath KiTet” hours. I even created a new social media account to gush about them. Anyway, here’s a general, non-shippy headcanon:
Despite being a normal human being, Tetora is the one who ends up helping Kija get better in physical combat. One time during a fight the group got caught up in, Tetora saw how recklessly he aimed for his opponents and how much force he used in doing so. He was, once again, the most injured and exhausted member of the party. At first he didn't accept her offer to give him tips on fighting close range, but seeing her take on a few bandits all by herself made him rethink that.
She has him practice regular martial arts stances and punches with his dragon hand at "rest". When they find themselves in more fights, she has to yell to remind him to try out his punches and slashes with his dragon hand, again, at "rest". He's so used to just blowing it up to wipe everybody away that it's difficult the first few times. But once he gets the hang of it, he's able to fight and keep his stamina up.
