My name is Calico! I'm an adult and I use she/they/it/any pronouns except for he/him along with you/your and thou/thee second person pronouns. And this blog is for anything kinmisic or anything that is bigoted or against alterhuman, nonhuman, therian, otherkin, copinglink, otherheart, godshards, vampires, and such.
I don't have a dni and anybody can send an ask. I'm also friendly towards factfolk, divinefolk, conceptfolk, aifolk, and fictionfolk. This is also a delusion and IRL safe spot.

This blog does not have a DNI! This is a blog about sharing kinmisic experiences, not a personal blog! Anybody can experience this and I will not bar somebody from sharing their experiences even if we share differing beliefs!
just wanted to ask, would it be disrespectful for me to be kitsune kin? /genq
i think inherently no, but it does depend on how you go about it. that's how i feel for all yokai kins. kitsune are probably the most common yokai in fictional media, and thus there's a BUNCH of them outside of shintoism that your kin could be based off of, so i don't mind it at all!! and even if your kin is based off shintoism, i think it could be okay? just be respectful of shintoism, and listen to japanese people!! just listen to POC generally honestly. it's not hard to be respectful... i doubt you've done anything offensive accidentally :P
Me and the pack when we are in our convenient base forms
Ft @merillia the shapeshifter (glitchy biblically accurate sea bunny), amorphous-creature the shapeshifter (cat blob made of void), and @draconickitsune the shapeshifting kitsune/dragon.
Who put all these shapeshifters into the same room?
I don't know how to describe this feeling but it just makes me so uncertain and uncomfortable and gives me some level of impostor syndrome.
So, I identify as a five-tailed kitsune. It's one of my theriotypes/kintypes. I don't know on what level(s) specifically, but I know spiritual is in there somewhere. But Kitsune are from Japanese folklore and mythology, and I'm a white-ass American. I was initially very wary about this (maybe it's overly paranoid, but I'd rather be overly paranoid than be carelessly offensive), and I ended up making a post aimed at the Japanese alterhuman community (which is apparently very small!) talking about it, admitting that I was worried about being offensive, asking if it was okay, etc.
Not only was everyone very kind and I ended up with several new friends, one of them stayed up obscenely late just to put together some information for me. I was relieved that I wasn't offending anyone, but mostly I was touched by how kind everyone was. And as a bonus, I have even more of a reason to practice my Japanese, lol. (Though before anyone says anything: I've been learning the language on and off long before I realized I was alterhuman.)
But I still can't help but feel somewhat uneasy. I mean, I didn't offend them, and that's extremely important, but I still feel really out of place or wrong with myself somehow. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing, if I'm even right about my theriotype, and yet nothing else seems to fit. I feel lowkey kinda sick sometimes when I think about it and I don't know why.
